Publisher's Summary

In this electrifying novel from New York Times bestselling author Elisabeth Naughton, love can be a risk when it’s explored in such dark places…

All his siblings have moved on from their troubling pasts, but Rusty McClane can’t leave his behind. Not even when his freedom is in jeopardy.

Legal investigator Harper Blake can sense a bad boy. She’s drawn to them - like she is to her mysterious and brooding new client. The police believe that Rusty is involved with the case of a missing underage girl. Harper’s job is to find evidence to defend him. But is her sexy suspect a predator…or something else?

If Rusty is guilty of anything, it’s of stirring something primitive in Harper. The closer they get, the harder it is to believe the worst of him.

But in an underworld filled with sex trafficking, kidnapping, and murder, Harper will need to be cautious about whom she trusts. Because Rusty isn’t the only one with secrets.

Best book in the series!

Rusty McClane, one if the 5 siblings who were adopted by the McClane couple, has secrets. Secrets that not even his family knows. Former cop, Harper Blake, now works as an investigator for a law firm. She doesn’t trust Rusty McClane...not one bit. When circumstances lead Harper and Rusty to team up to stop a human trafficking ring, they both get more than they bargained for. In the process, they find love. Fast paced and lots of action. Easy read and we catch up with the other McClane siblings.

Really good!

I enjoyed this book, the whole series actually. Good twists and surprises. The one small thing I didn’t really enjoy was it seemed this book had more sexual talk than the others. I love a good romance and relating to the feelings of the characters but i felt there was too much focus and descriptions when these parts came up. More drawn out and bit too often. I still absolutely recommend the book and series.

Great Story

I loved Rusty's story the best I think although they all have been pretty good. I have to say that the male voices were hard to take and I almost stopped listening because of that. I wish there had been a different narrator for the male voices.

High Calliber Narration and Well Written Story.

I did like the repeat of the McClane family cast of characters, but there is too much graphic and crude sex in everything Naughton writes.

Another great romantic suspense

Rusty and Harper pair up in this romantic suspense revolving around a missing girl. The stakes to catch the city's kidnapper are high, especially with a vigilante on the loose. But Harper soon learns that not all things are what they seem and sometimes the lines between who's on what side of the law are blurred at best. Everything you've read in this series will play a part as pieces begin fitting together. It's up to the two of them to solve this puzzle before it's too late for the victims as well as themselves.
It was so hard to put thos book down! There were so many a-ha moments and twists at each corner. Very unpredictable but once you reach the end it all comes together exactly how it should.
This will be a book series I will revisit.

Exciting with humor

The story is exciting. Trying to stop Human trafficking and more. The banter between Rusty and Harper is quite humorous. I laughed out loud. And how it ties all together at the end is sweet.

Narration is Terrible

I purchased to listen to as I drive but the narration is so robotic I can not listen to it. The book may be fine but I can't get past the poor narration.

Awful

Possibly the worst book l have ever read,or listened to.The storyline was that boring that I kept going to sleep or just switching it off. Usually when I start a book I like to keep going, but I read about four other books in between. I tried and tried to finish it, but in the end I just let it play out while I read another book at the same time. The different voices of the narrator were stupid
