Another fun urban fantasy

Typical fare of author: good dialogue, characters you like, interesting but uncomplicated story. Like literary candy.

The story was excellent, the reader was not.

Enjoyed the new story line, although the characters were weaker than her normal characters. After chapter 12 I had to quit listening and just read the book. The narrator's interpretation of the book was really detracting from the story.

Poor writing or bad narration?

Performance was very distracting. Too often her clipped speech did not match the mood or dialogue. Also story had the feel of one of the author’s much earlier stories.

Great storyline

This storyline will capture your attention and pull you in. There are many twists and in the end all comes together. I love Jaynes writing.

Loved it! Jayne Ann Krentz is always a pleasure to read! She is consistently my top author.

Not Up to Her Usual

Plot "A" follows to danger "B" follows to Hero "C".
Used this one to help me with insomnia (it's true!). I'm calling this a formula that I can nearly see written on a white board with erasable markers for the small moments of inspiration. And they are small. On to my biggest complaint: I'm just super irritable after having bought another title that turned out to be from her rehashed 90's romance fiction. She pumped out these vapid stories when JK was first learning how to crank out book-under-contract. It claimed to be from 2023, but on purchase, it was revealed to have been written 20 years ago. No refund from Audible. I had paid cash and this, apparently, means they don't give refunds. Excuse me? Your policy limits liability for deception? My personal policy is to avoid purchases from companies that don't stand by their products. BTW- I was unable to write a review for that title (no excuse given so you know it's totally legit!)....so I'm putting the review here.

Excellent book

The story was engrossing with lost of twists. The narrator was good. The one suggestion I have is to have a male and female narrator.

Great book as always by Jayne Ann Krentz. Love the paranormal angle as always. Can’t wait for the next book!

Interesting read

This was a pleasant book to listen to; interesting storyline and descriptions of people and spaces.
I could have used a bit more romance, but I like heavy on the romance.
I always love this narrator.
