What a GREAT STORY!

I absolutely loved this story and the lead character and how she took no ones shit. Definitely recommend!

Interesting vampire book

I listened through Audible. The narrator was perfect for this story. I enjoyed this book until I reached about half way. The female character was inundated with too many males. I started to get bored with the book. Was it necessary to have an ex-boyfriend, a college roomy, four vamps all wanting her? It just went on and on. She is half human and half vampire. She has special awesome powers. The book picked back up in the last three chapters. If not for so many men trying to woo her I would have given this book a five star rating. Love, love bonds, telekinesis, forgiveness, evil, blood, anger. This book was fun.

ok but will not read the 2nd book

The Bad: 1 st the book did not catch my attention at all. I struggled to listen and had to re listen to certain parts because of how bored I got. Danny as the main character was not my favorite .she was a total indecisive slut. she toyed with her friend emotions, Kaiden, and randomly had sex with some guy all in the course of a couple of months.

The good: The sex scenes were good. i liked it a lot. although Danny did have to be the damsel in distress more times than I liked; their was enough times that show she is strong too. Their some very strong characters in the story that are realistic and relatable such as Tessa and Kaiden. What makes this story interesting is that Vampirism is human evolving kind of, human can have powers too, had a pretty easy political system to understand. The Narrator Neva was very talented I loved how she made the men sound too.

Supporting characters are not likable

OK, so it's common to have good guys and bad guys, I get it. But almost all the supporting characters are unlikable and spineless. It's a little much and made the overall story unlikable although I really wanted to like it because I like the main character.

IT BLEW ME AWAY

I can safely say that my Library is overflowing with Vampire book/series but NONE, and I mean NONE, had the same impact on me that this minute by minute, pulse-pounding, gut-wrenching phenomenal and intense listen had with it's romantic and emotional heart-wrenching twists and turns, revelations, surprises, secrets and shocks. Cat Miller has created a new Vampire world with it's Laws, Dictates, Rules, Prophecies, Villains, Heroes, Heroines and innocent bystanders that'll suck you into the non-stop dramas and dilemmas that's forced, welcomed or thrust upon so many of it's characters. Then, at the end if the listen, you're left emotionally drained and dazed that the story has not ended..... but rather the battle has just begun.

I'm not going to give any further details as it just wouldn't be enough, or fair to give clues that may rob you of the excitement and pleasure of finding out what a gem this awesome listen is but I will say that it's also an absolute bargain at $7.34 for over 15 hours of pure paranormal escapism at it's best.... including any flaws.
