Slow start but great end

Very slow start, almost DNF’ed after 3 hours. But the ending of the series makes it worth the slow beginning.

The narrator drove me nuts. She speaks fast sentences but takes huge pauses in between sentences which made it hard to adjust the speed of the book to something more bearable. She also randomly pronounces things wrong that she’s already said several times. Not sure what that’s about.

Started slow but picked up after a few chapters

Loved this series. This book started out a little slow and hard to push through, but picked up quickly. Lots of twists and turns and great love stories. I really like the writing! Well thought out and organized! Pay close attention to all the little details as they are important!

Very creative story

These books were surprising and suspenseful. Though foreshadowing made me confident it would have a happy ending, the story was not formulaic. The narrator’s performance was very good, distinguishing all the voices well and giving depth to the characters.

Love the story

This was a well written story. Loved both books. Different and refreshing . Great performance on the audio book. Worth the wait!

Masterful Character Development and Clever Story!

The story draws you in from the very start and leaves you captivated through every paragraph. I don’t know that I’ve ever read something as intelligent, ingenious and imaginative as the providence cards theme! This is an epic fairy tale of such incredible heart and humanity both cruel and kind. Creative and clever, and masterful storytelling. Wonderful narration as well!! Really brought the characters and world to life!! Unforgettable! Bravo!!!!

Satisfying and unique

And excellent compliment to the incredible ONE DARK WINDOW. One of the most unique magic systems I’ve read in a very long time. And characters that leave a mark.

Be wary. Be clever. Be good.

Ahh this was even better than the first book. I absolutely love these characters. I loved getting the different POVs it made the story even more exciting.

the storyline

The story from Beginning to end as been amazing trip into the world. I love both books and may have to come book again.

Reader should vary voice more

Most male characters were read in same voice, making it confusing at times to keep track of which character was talking.
