Publisher's summary
Let your imagination run wild with stories of danger and romance.
Wouldn't it be fun to experience firsthand the carefree life of a vagabond and a hunter, do battle with a dragon, find romance at the end of the world? Wouldn't it be even better to board a tram going to a land where fairy tales come to life? It definitely would! But as our characters themselves discover, you, too, will learn that imagination is a double-edged sword, for living a dream is not the same as a dream come true.
Two Stories About Dreams brings two wildly imaginative stories together into one audiobook. "The Hunter and the Dame" tells the story of a young and carefree hunter who entered the gates of the Sun City thinking only of decent lodging for the night. Little did he know that he was destined to slay a dragon and fall in love with a beautiful noblewoman. But was the dragon real, and was the beautiful woman all that she seemed?
"Fairy Trap" takes you on a journey with a traveler who falls asleep on a night tram and becomes the victim of three enchantresses in a match of their skills of seduction. Who was to win the contest, and was there to be a winner? The traveler wakens only to find that the dreams linger on.
For your listening enjoyment, at the end of the audiobook you will find the soundtracks - written by the author - to both of these enchanting romantic mysteries. So sit back, relax, and let your imagination run wild with Two Stories About Dreams.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
Romance can be a little complicated when you get sucked into a wormhole. Just ask high school English teacher June Flint. One little solar flare happens and suddenly you find yourself 85 years in the future. Eighty-five years from your dream job. Your ailing mother whose only companion in this world is you. Your favorite stuffed-crust pizza from DeLucia’s on Sunday nights. But when June’s cell phone inexplicably picks up a signal, she’s able to call back to the present—more specifically, four weeks before she accidentally time traveled.

Story
Gabriel Ferrara is tall and handsome, and most days she wants to stab her eyes out with a pencil, anything to stop her seeing his perfection. How any female could work in these conditions and not be completely besotted with him is beyond her. Then he opens his mouth and she remembers why. He's bossy and sarcastic, with a wit so sharp it could cut glass. Every weekend is the same . . . while he's off living his dream life, she's counting down the days until Monday when she sees him again.

Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

No particular character, but I enjoyed the narrator's voice and presentation style
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes
Any additional comments?
These are fairytales for grownups, with a touch of melancholy and romantic irony. The narrator's voice and background music are very soothing. Pleasant listening for a cold winter evening.
