Publisher's summary

A rookie detective in a Tuscan town faces her first case in this chilling international mystery-thriller from the bestselling author of the David Wolf Series.

After five years on foot patrol inside the idyllic Tuscan walled city of Siena, Italy, Ali Falco is eager to stretch her limbs into the surrounding region and prove her worth in her new role of detective. Still recovering from gunshot wound surgery after the events up north in Como, she gets her chance sooner than expected when a man is found murdered inside his family vineyard home in the wine country of Montalcino.

The death of the young vintner is a devastating blow to a father and sister, surviving owner-operators of a winery producing the iconic style of wine: Brunello di Montalcino. Wounds point to a killer bent on vengeance, but for what?

As motive for the killing proves just as elusive as the identity of the murderer, the case leads Ali and her partners to rich and powerful people in the area, whose bloodlines span back generations, and whose money flows like wine into the pockets of those in power. Young Detective Falco finds herself in over her head amid such a crowd, and the closer she gets to the truth, the more danger she finds herself running from. With death looming at the final turn, will Ali’s first case be her last?

From the author of the David Wolf Series, this harrowing adventure-thriller will bring you to the breathtaking region of Tuscany, Italy, where the beauty of the land is a distraction for the dark truth hiding behind ancient walls.

Another Riveting Suspense

Another riveting case for Ali Falco and Co. I really enjoyed this story, it was even more exciting and suspenseful than The Como Falcon. I would say these books very much stand on their own, but I love the little elements that arc through the series. I'm still crossing my fingers and toes for more Marco as we go on, because I adore those two together.

The audio was fantastic. Marnye Young does such an incredible job narrating Ali, I especially love how she flows from English to Italian and back again. I'm excited for more from both her and Jeff.

Action Packed

Tuscan Blood is the second installment of the Ali Falco series. This mystery can be read as a stand-alone.

I highly recommend the audiobook. It is solo narrated by Marnye Young and she does a fantastic job bringing this mystery to life.

This book is about average length for the genre but it is packed with content. It is fast paced from start to finish but it flows well. The MCs background is sprinkled throughout the storyline so there’s no info dumping. The mystery/case itself progresses realistically and there’s just enough suspense to keep readers from putting the book down. The audio is about 7.5 hours long and I listened to about half in one go. I was hooked from the very beginning even without being previously familiar with the MC.

Tuscan Blood is the first book that I have read from Jeff Carson but I look forward to reading more of his work in the future.

I voluntarily listened to and reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Great story with a strong female character

I listened to the audible and thought that this book was entertaining, suspenseful with great details, has a great female lead character, and I even learned a little bit about Italy through it.

Another Good Jeff Carson Novel

First, the narration of this book was far superior to the first in the series.
I like Jeff Carson’s writing as I find them easy to read, with fast moving plots, well drawn characters, no excessive violence, no gratuitous sex, and apolitical. Very enjoyable!

Boring story & narration

Where to start? It's hard to believe that the same author of the David Wolfe series is the author of the boring Alli Falco series. These two stories might be more engaging with a different narrator... monotone delivery and unchanging pacing put me to sleep. I will not be listening to any more of these unless there's a new narrator.
