Publisher's Summary

A companion guidebook to the number one best-selling Good to Great, focused on implementation of the flywheel concept, one of Jim Collins’ most memorable ideas that has been used across industries and the social sectors and with start-ups.

The key to business success is not a single innovation or one plan. It is the act of turning the flywheel, slowly gaining momentum and eventually reaching a breakthrough. Building upon the flywheel concept introduced in his groundbreaking classic Good to Great, Jim Collins teaches listeners how to create their own flywheel, how to accelerate the flywheel’s momentum, and how to stay on the flywheel in shifting markets and during times of turbulence.

Combining research from his Good to Great labs and case studies from organizations like Amazon, Vanguard, and the Cleveland Clinic that have turned their flywheels with outstanding results, Collins demonstrates that successful organizations can disrupt the world around them - and reach unprecedented success - by employing the flywheel concept.

audible version misses the charts

While the audible version was well narrated, there were many charts and graphs that one would never be able to fully appreciate via audio.

No access to the supporting docs

The book was great but there is lots of reference to supporting material that we don’t have access to.
I’d give it 5 stars if we had that

Run your company better

hey, if you want to have a better company run it better! keep making it better! things get momentum if you keep making them better. Jeff Bezos ran a good company because he kept making it better. That's the pabulum of this book. totally not worth one audible credit for this two hour simplistic podcast.

That’s it?

I thought there would be more to this. Not worth it. Maybe he needed to put out another “book” to satisfy his contract.

Good book

I love how he expands on the "flywheel principle". A bit short though. It almost seems like the author was just teying to get the book out. Having said that it was great info and the subject is very small. I highly recommend this book, especially if you've read Good to Great.

good story but without missing illustrations

the framework is good but really feeling missing the point actual monographs. which many other books from audible includes, that would be a 100% improvement of this.

Simple and easy to understand

A well written book that is easy to understand and apply to many areas of a person's life and not just a business.

Great summary

I felt that this distilled the major points of each of his other books in a short digestible format. Great to gift to teams of staff any leader is working with.
