All the electricity has gone out, nobody knows why, and it's five months later. Food is scarce, and gas is scarcer. The world isn't sudden chaos: it's simply quiet and lost. Survival depends on trusting the right people, and staying away from the wrong ones. But how can you tell the difference?
Tulsa is a ground's-eye view of the apocalypse: a front-row seat to the slow-motion unraveling of society and the things we believe comprise identity. As the world falls apart, there are people everywhere - trustworthy or treacherous - and somewhere in the countryside, there is a particular farm....

Six months later my days are spent wandering the streets, playing possum and hiding amongst trash bags from unionized mobs hell-bent on my destruction. Who could’ve predicted anosmia would be my upside in this post-apocalyptic hellscape?
But today is the day I fight back. Consumed by hunger and badly limping, I hole up in the fortress of one of my former oppressors. Far removed from my previous life battling dry cleaners and office politics, my current foe is an overlooked, industrial grade can of guacamole hidden in this derelict Mexican grille establishment.
After hours of struggling to relieve the jar of its creamy avocado treasure, I spy can opener perched high atop a storage shelf. Too high to reach given my diminutive stature, I swing aloft with my makeshift crutch, but it doesn't budge. Dammit, Chipotle, you win again.
If you haven't yet, I highly recommend you pony up for Tulsa. Great book, thanks Harris!
