Mysterios and Terrifying!
I first must admit that I am not big on mysteries and I held back on listening to this story for far too long. I'm happy that I did decide to listen to it because author Adam L. Penenberg did a great host with creating this story. I don't give away details in my reviews because I'm always worried that I will spoil it for others. I just tend to explain how good the story is or if it wasn't. I will say it was a great story and worth the credit or the purchase. I do believe that Adam is well known in the media for things he's done and his stories have been opted for films. I might be wrong but I think I'm right when I write this.
Adam's story of Trial and Terror kept me fully engaged from start to finish. This was my first time listening to anything by this author but I will definitely look for more of his stories. It was one of those on the edge of your seat masterpieces. I found it to be the type of mystery that I really enjoy. You couldn't get enough of the creepy, the mysterious, and suspenseful. The storyline is filled with plots and unexpected twist throughout the story. Adam Penenberg definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to writing this type of mystery.
The narrator, Jack Dr Golia did a magnificent job with his telling of this story. I've never listened to any of his stories but I'm extremely glad that I finally got to this story. I found home to be extremely talented and a wide vocal range. Every character's voice and accents were outstanding. He is a very talented narrator and it shows throughout the story. I will definitely be looking forward to listening to more of this narrator's work.

A Sizzling Legal Thriller for the Summer
Would you listen to Trial and Terror again? Why?
I would highly recommend this book and will listen to it again. It was both entertaining AND suspenseful. Why would I listen to this book again? Because this book is like a good record. You want to listen to it again.
What did you like best about this story?
This story had several really good and unexpected plot twists. I had a lot of fun listening to this book. The dialogue was extremely engrossing. It was well written with good flow.
Have you listened to any of Jack de Golia’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first time to listen to Jack de Golia. He is an extremely talented narrator with a wide vocal range. All the characters were very well done and a few were outstanding! I will listen to more books narrated by him in the future.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Courtroom Summer Sizzler
Any additional comments?
I was very impressed with this book overall. The author knows his business and he's good at it and Jack de Golia is a superb narrator. I received the audiobook free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review.

Twists at every turn
I really enjoyed this novel. It grabbed me from the beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat. It had quite a few plot twists that I didn't see coming and then ending was a shocker. I would love to read another book about the characters of Summer and Ty and what happens to them after this book.
Mr. de Golia did a fine job narrating this book and gave each character its own 'voice'. I would recommend this book to friends looking for a mystery/suspense novel with a twist!

Solid legal thriller
"Trial and Terror" (2012, 2014) by Adam L. Penenberg is an interesting legal thriller about young public defender Summer Neuwirth, who struggles with her first capital murder trial. Summer, the survivor of a brutal rape only six months earlier, defends a female client accused of killing an assistant district attorney Summer despised. I found the story line a bit disjointed and rushed sometimes, but overall it held my interest from start to its surprising finish in no small part due to Jack de Golia’s entertaining narration. Solidly recommended. At my request, I was given this free audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.

Just when you think you figure it out…Surprise!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! The book is well-written and full of twists and turns, and Jack De Golia is a master at bringing the characters to life.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I was enthralled and fully engaged in this book from the first chapter, and never predicted the ending…never even came close to predicting the ending.
Have you listened to any of Jack de Golia’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to Jack de Golia's performances before, and he is by far my favorite narrator. He does an outstanding job with accents and consistency in playing the various characters, both male and female. I have listened to many audible book just because Jack is the narrator. He's an amazing, talented audible actor!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Justice isn't always as it seems

Tough to follow but not terrible
Trial and Terror by Adam Peneburg, Narrated by Jack De Golia.
Summer Neuwirth is a public defender who has won her first case. A rapist who is caught on video tape and still is aquitted by a jury. The trouble is he was guilty. Now her boss wants her to take on her first murder case. Her new client an ex-prostitute turned women's violence advocate, has Motive, Means, and Opportunity.
Her guilty client, who was aquitted, knows a lot about Summer. Even some things Summer doesn't remember from her past. As Summer tries to save her current client her past and present collide. How will she protect the innocent as well as herself. The twists keep you guessing.
This book covers a lot of time and information in a short amount of time. With little back story, the characters are developed quickly and with a psycological edge that is hinted at but not really explored. The reader must infer a lot of the emotion that the characters must feel and the level of their relationship to each other.
There are five stories being told, they intersect because of Summer and 4 of 5 revolve around her or her family.
The ending is abrupt, to the point I had to rewind and listen again because I thought I missed something.
The narrator Jack De Golia does a superior job with the material he had to work with. This book has good intentions but misses the mark by a mile.

GREAT NARRATION MAKES GOOD MYSTERY ENTERTAINING
Any additional comments?
I was engrossed by this book from the first page to the last. Public defender Summer Neuwith”s client, Marsalis, is found not guilty of rape, then stalks her and turns out to be a creepy, techno-expert who knows too much about her and can watch her every move. There are several story lines, including Summer defending the woman accused of murdering prosecutor Harold Gundy, who is Summers courtroom adversary. The ending was a surprise.
What enhanced this book was the narration by Jack de Golia, who brought the characters to life. At times, it felt like I was listening to an old radio play, with different actors performing each role rather than Mr. de Golia performing them all. In particular, Mr. de Golia did an excellent job with the voice for the creepy Marsalis.
I will definitely listen to other books narrated by Mr. de Golia.
