Adam Mitzner
The second electrifying thriller from the "gifted writer" (Publishers Weekly) and author of A Conflict of Interest.
A high-profile attorney in the middle of a leave of absence following a personal tragedy is drawn back into the legal arena amidst a media firestorm when he agrees to represent a popular rap artist accused of brutally murdering his pop star girlfriend. With its powerful voice, pause-resisting tension, and strong cast of characters, Adam Mitzner’s novels are reminiscent of such best-selling authors as Scott Turow and John Grisham.

If you could sum up A Case of Redemption in three words, what would they be?
Compelling ... Suspenseful ..... Surprising.Who was your favorite character and why?
The main character Dan was my favorite in the book of course. His character was very well defined and developed. He could at times be likable an unlikable. What does Kevin T. Collins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator was great! His voice and performance brought the story images to mind. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I didn't want to pause the book at all.MUST READ!!!!!

He was unable to forgive himself and continued to stay home and has been drinking and going to bed drunk. There were sufficient funds in the bank.
A female attorney approached him and implored his help in a criminal trial where her client is being charged with first degree murder, the brutal murder of his girlfriend, a high profile pop singer. Her client declared his innocence and she believes that he is innocent. Her client was a talented rap artist. She explained that someone had informed her that he would be the guy to go to but he was no longer working.
This did not deter her. She went to his apartment and with much encouragement he agreed to help her. This was the ultimate opportunity for him to learn if he'd be up to the task. He became more involved as each day passed.
He continued to work and started to question the other attorney, who has now moved in with him. He knew that he had to follow through with his theories even if what he was thinking proved to be right. He hoped for the best.
The narrator, Kevin T. Collins, did a great job. The many voices were well done as were the emotions expressed by them. I enjoyed the quality of the mystery. The characters were well developed and believable. The book held my interest throughout. I read his first thriller,
A Conflict of Interest, and enjoyed it too. There was action and suspense which kept me wanting to continue listening. I think that if you're interested in mysteries, this was a good one.

A lawyer, Dan, is taking time off after a family tragedy. He's almost hit bottom but he meets a female attorney, Nina, through friends. She convinces him to come back to law and represent a rapper accused of brutally murdering his girlfriend, who was considered a "pop princess."
Nothing is what it seems, even at the end. The attorneys are trying to solve the murder - was it their client or someone else? But they keep finding another lie their client has told them which led them in the wrong direction. The story is not predictable and could definitely be considered "ripped from the headlines" as others have said. This will keep you guessing.
I'm looking forward to Mr. Mitzner's next book.
Hooked on this author!

If you could sum up A Case of Redemption in three words, what would they be?
A respectable story. What other book might you compare A Case of Redemption to and why?
Not really comparable to any story. I sure most would like to compare it to other legal drama's. I haven't read a ton of legal drama's outside of John Grisham and Scott Turow, this story isn't really comparable which is a good thing because I tend to try to find original types if that's possible. What do you think the narrator could have done better?
He could have done better when trying to talk like rap/hip hop artist. He was kind of comical. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, pretty long and would need a break.Any additional comments?
Maybe this is the beginning of a series, and if so I would continue to listen.Enjoyable and worth a listen

Don’t get me wrong: It is still an enjoyable listen, but Mitzner set the bar with “A Conflict of Interest” so high that I am actually disappointed. I’m missing depths and character development in this story, it seems as if the author was in a hurry to produce a sequel to his first hit.
As to the narration: It was no comparison to David LeDoux’s excellent performance in “A Conflict of Interest.” Collins performed rarely in favour of the story but more often he overdid it which made it strenuous to liste to.
good but predictable
