Publisher's Summary

Kaine Reynolds wants nothing more than solitude. After an unthinkable tragedy destroys his family, he's cut off all ties to his former life, so he can battle his grief the only way he knows how. Alone. So when Piper Campbell knocks on his door, rambling on about being his new neighbor, he slams the door in her face.

But Kaine's gruff demeanor doesn't scare her. She's set on living in Montana and starting over after a terrible divorce. And she wouldn't mind having a fling to chase away the pain of her husband's betrayal. Her handsome, albeit rude, neighbor is the perfect candidate.

Yet what neither of them suspect is that their no-strings affair will result in the surprise of Piper's lifetime - and Kaine's worst fear.

Struggled with narration

While not quite as good the Jamison Valley Series - I really enjoyed the first three books in the Lark Cove Series. I like the stories, the characters and the continuity. Overall, the books are very entertaining. This being said, I think the narration on the first two (Tattered and Timid) was a great deal better than this one. This book changed narrators and while the male narrator - Teddy Hamilton is fine - I had a hard time listening to Jillian Macie. Her voice is nasally and she is overly dramatic. Narrators should read the way they would talk if in a conversation - not with extra inflection or accentuation. She made Piper and Thea sound like a couple of Valley Girls. Unfortunately, Macie narrates the last book in the series as well and she is just annoying enough that I'll have to read it instead of listen.

great story!

I love this series and was excited for this book. I really enjoyed probably the first 3/4 of it but the last part kind of dragged for me. Still a great listen and I look forward to more by this author!

Amazing.

This author has a way with words, her books are like crack. Once I start reading them it’s very hard for me to stop. This story is magic, the pain, the broken family ties, the betrayal and of course letting go of the past in order to move on and find happiness. This series get better with each book.

Love this one!!!

I started with The Clover Chapel. Was glad that there were stories about the other characters!!! Listened to Logan’s story, then Jackson’s story, and then finished with this one!!! Was glad I listened to them in that order!

5 Magic Stars!!!

My absolute favorite of this series and my new favorite of all Devney Perry’s books. Kaine and Piper’s stories are tragically heartbreaking. This is a poignant story about finding comfort and peace in times of despair. Teddy Hamilton and Jillian Macie knock this one out of the park. Their narration is fantastic! I highly recommend this audiobook. A must listen in this series.

Narration

I enjoyed the first 2 books in the Lark Cove series and was looking forward to the third book. Jillian Macie’s narration was horrible. I almost returned the book because of it. I looked up the next book in the series and Jillian is the narrator....very disappointing. I wish they would have used Maxine Mitchell and Aaron Shedlock for the entire series. They made the characters believable.
