Publisher's Summary

What are positive affirmations? An affirmation is anything that you think or say. This means that even your negative thoughts and words are affirmations. People have become used to thinking negatively, thus resulting in negative experiences and situations. It is important to retrain the mind to think only of good and positive things, so that only positive would also come out of the mouth. This is how you will change your life.

A positive affirmation will open a doorway to the positive changes in your life. It is like telling your subconscious mind to think this way: "I am taking control now. I am taking full responsibility. I know that I am in for some big changes in my life". Affirmations are a play on words, in a way - you choose the words that will either help you get rid of something in your life or create something new instead. Your every thought and every word is an affirmation. So, your self-talk and the internal dialogues that constantly occur are a stream of affirmations. This only means that both your conscious and subconscious thoughts have a huge impact on how your life goes. You are using affirmations every moment of your life. You are creating your own reality through your thoughts. If you only have fear and doubt, then you will attract only negativity. Same thing is true for positive thoughts. If you can release all those fears and doubts, then you will be free.

Not written for people with ADHD

Omg, I thought the other reviews were joking but Jesus I was pulling out my hair trying to stay focused on the guy's voice. He.is.so.slow.and.boring.and.constantly.pausing. like, for real, you'll need to put this on 3x speed for it to sound normal. And like others said, very monotonous. I'm sure he wanted to be very clear or something but the only thing that's clear is this audio book wasn't actually made for the audience it's supposed to be for. I can't imagine someone with ADHD actually making it through this booklet, and it's only a half hour long, that's how bad it is!

Monotony

A previous reviewer stated that the narrator is monotonous and they are not wrong. This person is so monotonous, it's hilarious. I started listening to it, to see if it was worth the approximate 35 minutes of wasted time. It's subjective, in my opinion, I couldn't turn it off because the narration, voice and accent entertained me. But, for some It would be annoying.

About the worst narrator for an ADHD audience

Monotone narration. Not great for adhd. You’d think a book about adhd would know better.

Content has value, but mind numbing delivery

I think the content of this material would be valuable to some people, but it's pretty standard law of attraction type stuff and no big revelations. The voice over is totally monotone and takes away just ab any value of the content /:

RUN AWAY!!

1. It sounds like a robot is reading this. I had it at 2x speed just to have the narrator resemble a human.
2. These affirmations leave no room for grace. if they are written by someone with ADHD they did not understand the assignment. This book will cause more anxiety and self disappointment. Since of the affirmations said things like, "I will respect other's time and be prompt" "I won't interrupt because I respect the person speaking." It's not helpful. trust me if I could repeat it a million times and make it so I would have cured myself if ADHD.
3. This book was all about manifesting the behaviors you want with disregard to the actual neurological reasons behind these behaviors and that is unfair.

Terribly slow

The choice of narrator was about as bad as it gets. I got this to try to connect with my partner who has ADHD and listening to it made me feel like I had it. Its incredibly slow and monotone, and comes off more like a laundry list of annoying habits to insult the reader. It gives me the same feeling of being grounded and having to write a phrase over and over.

Great content, just listen at 2x - 3x

As others have mentioned, the narration is painfully monotonous.

So just make sure to listen at 2x to 3x.

Not specifically ADHD oriented

Narrator good, but not specifically oriented to ADHD. Affirmations were good, effective, but could apply to anyone in the general public.

Was not what I was expecting. ok, but disappointed. Title is misleading.

Terrible

So condescending and patronizing. Not helpful at all for people with ADHD. I couldn't even listen to 5 minutes without wanting to scream
