Ethan and his companions have returned to Hawkshead, but all is not well. Something is scaring away the animals in the area and wreaking havoc on the village’s food supply.
The villagers call on Ethan and his friends to find the problem and deal with it. All clues lead the group to the old abandoned mine and the tomb which the former mayor uncovered. What sort of magic or monster could scare away the animals, and what traps may still lurk in the tomb's darkness?
When the tomb seals behind them, Ethan and the group have no choice but go forward into the depths and face whatever dangers lie at the heart of the tomb. But the tomb may no longer be empty, and its new residents don't appreciate trespassers.
Now they must use all of their abilities and magic to make it out alive, and Ethan may have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save his friends.

Juliana aside as a literal heal bot.
I thought Naya would come into her own when she was released from her 'pack restraints,' but not really. Her entire point is as a blood hound to the group that occasionally hunts game.
None are as infuriating as Ainsley though. The dwarf.
Apparently, according to Ethan, she's one of their only 'accomplished fighters,' which is an utter joke. If she's not eating all their food, she's constantly whining and being utterly useless. Dead weight the entire time that you can't even ignore because she won't shut up.
That was the case before this book, however. In this one the author decided to make it even worse by having her become a vegetable because she got an (admittedly gruesome) scar on her face the ONE time she actually did anything.
Then she became a double vegetable by becoming catatonic out of fear because of her arachnophobia.
Honestly, majority of the books have been (and will likely continue to be) the entire party waiting around with their thumbs up their asses and waiting for Ethan to save the day.
At this point, I'd rather it just be Ethan and the Kobold, it'd honestly be less annoying.
Oh wait, we need Naya to perform her most important duties. Fucking Ethan to restore his mana.
This is not a joke. I honestly wish it was. I hate how much of an SJW this makes me sound, but if they even contributed a LITTLE to the battles it'd be nice...
I'm not sure if I'll continue
