Obsessed!!
I absolutely love Madeleine’s writing style and her way of telling a story. In this witchy retelling of Red Riding Hood, we get all the steam and banter of a fantastic slow burn romantasy novel. The world building and magic system had me hooked, what’s not to love about witches and demons! I loved getting to meet Elara and the mysterious hunter on the journey to the Demon King. They had me swooning! The animal sidekicks we such a fun part of the book! And can we talk about the big reveal! It was intertwined beautifully into the novel without being too predictive or over the top. I loved it!
Oh gosh that cliffhanger! I cannot wait for the sequel!
Rylee Kuberra was a fantastic narrator and fit the story so well! I loved how she brought the world and characters to life!

Excellent
I don’t even have words to describe how good this was. I recently read another series by this author, and loved it so much that I immediately started this series. I went into a little nervous since I loved the last one so much, and wasn’t sure that anything would compare. I was thrilled with a story that was so well thought out and unique while still containing all of my favorite elements. My biggest compliment to the story is how the romance unfolds. I hate when romances just happened all of a sudden and don’t feel real, and then I also hate when they drag on for too long. This was the perfect amount of tension and felt real, passionate, and authentic . The characters each have a depth and a background that was so clearly thought through. I don’t have enough good things to say.

Fantasy Romance
I just finished my re-read of To Hunt A Demon King by Madeleine Eliot on audio and I loved it! The audio narrator was wonderful.
✨This steamy Red Riding Hood retelling has so many of my favorites! Witches, demons, reluctant allies to lovers, forced proximity, delicious banter, and all the slow burn that I absolutely love in a fantasy romance.
The plot, magic systems, and mysteries surrounding our main female character, the crone, coven, and demon cursed woods captivated my interest immediately. The world building throughout the story was detailed yet easily digestible and the taunting tension that builds between the love interests was perfection! This steamy, cozy, and fun read has all the witchy vibes and checked all the boxes for me. 🥀🐺🧺
✨To Hunt A Demon King is the first book in the King and Coven series, and I look forward to continuing on with Elara and Hunt’s story. I recommend this story to those who enjoy romance, fantasy, and fantasy romance.

I Hate Cliffhangers but I Love the Story
This story is so interesting and it is unique enough that it kept me interested from the beginning. The romance was a key element of the story and it had the steam. It highly enjoyed the story.

Alluring witchy cozy fantasy
I loved this book so much! Honestly, at this point, Madeleine Eliot is an autobuy author for me. If she writes it, there is no longer a doubt I will love it. I love the low stakes, no crazy left field cliffhanger element of her books. The narrator did an excellent job voicing the characters and conveying Elara’s sassiness!
Elara and Hunt were such endearing characters, their banter so entertaining and amusing. And the world building, as always, was incredibly enchanting! Don’t even get me started on the creatures because I absolutely adore them. Akela was precious and Artemis was her best spunky self. Animal companions is one of my new favorite tropes, if it can be considered that. I’m also so excited to find out more about the demons, because I love how the author has chosen to portray them! This is truly a great cozy fantasy romance read that won’t give you grey hairs from stress 😂.
P.S. Did I mention it’s spicy? 👀

Five star audiobook!!
Wow! Just wow! I truly enjoyed reading THADK but listening to it as an audio book completely blew my mind. It was a whole new experience for me. I’ve never been to fond of audio books because I’m more of a reader, but this was AMAZING! Madeleine is such an amazing writer and Rylee killed it as the narrator! I enjoyed every bit of this cozy romantasy story. If you’re into fairytale retellings (little red riding hood) then this audio book it for you! World building is on point, the witty banter is chefs kiss and it has all of the favorite tropes! I honestly can’t wait for To Break A Demon Curse!
