Not up to Moriarty’s usual fabulous audiobooks - narration grating

Disappointed... while the story line had moments of brilliance, the narrator’s dull voice was distracting and made it difficult to really experience the characters. Perhaps i would have enjoyed the book more in print.

Light enjoyable

Not a memorable book but enjoyable. I didn’t agree with those that complained about the performance. I wasn’t confused.

Thoroughly enjoyed another fun listen from this engaging Australian writer. She’s so witty, imaginative, and creative. So sad when it ended.

An Interesting Look at Life and Love

I love Liane Moriarty’s ability to describe each scene in life with humorous precision and deftly crafted words. I hope to read all of her books someday. This one was especially enjoyable in the way she introduced and enlightened us about the life of triplet sisters. It is a must recommend for my family and friends who see the bright side of situations with tongue in cheek and who are not afraid to shed a few happy tears.

I’m on chapter 5 and I can’t get into it!
And I can’t return it…

So “real”…

Moriarty’s become one of my favorite authors because she isn’t squeamish about laying out the shortcomings of every character, even a toddler’s!

Somehow, though, they’re all complex enough to become endeared to the reader as the story unfolds, making us wish we could be their neighbors—or connected in some way, like Olivia, that waitress!

In trying to sort out the messiness of relationships in my own life, reading about these horrifying, yet intensely lovable, triplets and their families helps me forgive and put into perspective my own failings, along with the complicated ups and downs among close friendships and family members.

One note—while I appreciate Moriarty’s relaxed openness about her characters’ sexuality, I hope that aspect isn’t and/or doesn’t become a major feature in her stories. There are more than enough modern novels that use the cheap ploy of sexual arousal to sell an otherwise shallow story. I’m generally more of a classic lit reader because of that.

Story and character development are what turn a novel into a classic and I believe Moriarty’s stories have that kind and of timeless staying power.

Fun and complicated characters

It took me a while to get into the complicated nature of the relationships, but once I did, I was intrigued and wanted to see what happened next. Overall, a great first book by this author that I’ve enjoyed greatly.

Love her writing.

She has great character development. I thought it was great. Definitely recommend her books.
