Publisher's summary

Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett faces two different kinds of raging beasts—one animal, one human—in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C. J. Box.

A rogue grizzly bear has gone on a rampage—killing, among others, the potential fiancé of Joe’s daughter.

At the same time, Dallas Cates, whom Joe helped lock up years ago, is released from prison with a special list tattooed on his skin. He wants revenge on the people who sent him away: the six people he blames for the deaths of his entire family and the loss of his reputation and property.

Using the grizzly attacks as cover, Cates sets out to methodically check off his list.

The problem is, both Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett are on it.

Odd/unexpected killing machine. A little hard to buy the concept.

Should have pointed out that 3” is half the length of a dollar bill. Lots of mention of 3”, but no context for a reader without a ruler or knowledge…

Why!?!

This was another great story. I don’t want to give anything away. Let’s just say I wish Nate’s story hadn’t taken that turn.

Beautiful/tragic and captivating as always

The writing and narration are captivating. I have been listening to the this series for years and enjoy the learning that goes along with the story as well as the humor, tragedy, vulnerability and love for people and animals. Can’t wait for the next one.. to be continued…

Facts about grizzlies

I always enjoy C J Box’s Joe Pickett’s stories. I have read every one and can hardly wait for the next one. Good story line with plenty of suspense.

Always on the edge of my seat

Once again David chandler does a fabulous job of portraying and bringing to life all these characters. I was the edge of my seat so much so that I stopped working on my crafts just so I could concentrate on the book. CJ Box hits another one out of the park. My only complaint is I have to wait a year for the follow up novel to find out what happens next.

Good because of read the whole series.

It’s Joe Pickett not Dallas Cates. Overkill he 3rd book he makes him out to be something he’s not.
