Publisher's summary

After the introduction of a controversial criminal justice reform bill, the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles grants Andre “Dre” Owens clemency.

Suddenly, he’s forced back into a world that’s more complex than what he remembers…and full of tempting distractions. Most are skeptical that he deserves a second chance, and he is too, until a free-spirited dancer bounces into his life.

Much to her family’s dismay, Natasha “Tash” Breaux dances to her own confusing beat. She’s used to existing in a world that refuses to understand her and carrying the weight of a past that still lingers in the present.

After a mutual friend thrusts them together, Natasha agrees to help Andre cope with his newfound freedom, but there’s a problem—he makes her question everything she thought she knew about herself and the people around her.

She’s the ultimate distraction. He’s the ultimate enigma. And they’re so focused on how different their worlds look that when they endure them together, neither of them realizes the trouble that lurks beneath their budding friendship.

No one does it like Rae Lyse

Thirty is the icing on the cake to one of the best series I’ve ever read. So glad Phoenix McKay is back for this read. I knew this would be excellent with her and Winston James. This is another masterpiece.

Store was all over the place

The struggle was real to finish this book. It wasn't because of the injections of street colloquialisms. But because they truly didn't have a point on certain injects in the storyline. I took a chance because of the narrator Winston James. He has a commitment to bring characters to life. The acceptance of a trisexual life was explored. That part I appreciated.

Better than book 3

I was apprehensive about this book. Book 3 didn't hold my attention, and I wasn't sure if this one would either. But I was pleasantly surprised. I loved both main characters. They were appealing and relatable. I also loved the storyline. The narration was also great!

Best book out of the 4 that were released…

Not the typical / standard love story.
An honest love story.
Worth every credit since her books are always at a great time length.
Great character development.
Just a great series and worth every penny.

Natasha and Dre… Dirty 30 for Life!

Glad to hear Dre’s story.. while Josiah and Jade are my faves, it was good to flesh out the missing links. Love the love of family, friends, and triumph. Not your typical HEA, but love still wins!

Loved!!!

Wow! Wow! Wooooowwwww!!!

This was hands down the BEST book of the series!

I can’t even express how much I loved this story. It will definitely be a re-read for me. I LOVED Andre and Natasha.

Although, she was mentioned a bit in Josiah’s and Jade’s story- it wasn’t enough for me to have much of an opinion. But I did remember not liking how Jade and Kristen described her sexuality. I just didn’t know if it was intentional or the authors bias. Well, glad to know it was intentional as a running issue in this book.

I loved the storyline, I loved the topic of sexuality being on a spectrum. And for it to be addressed in this manner with this type of character (Andre)… stereotypical hood guy. Who is expected to be homophobic and disrespectful and all the things associated with that type of ignorance.

What a love story! I could go on and on. The slow building of more. Healing each other through acceptance. It was so much.

Top 5 read of 2022 for me and most definitely the BEST of the series!!! So glad I read it.

Oh and the narrators for the audiobook were great!

The Journey Of Dre

Although Andre was a minor, he spent 6 years in an adult prison system in order to help his family. Andre was enlightened to be so young and his daughter was a smart young lady that adored her dad. She wasn’t the average 8 year old, she too was well versed and enlightened . I love how the men of this series took the led in their relationships and helped their women grow. I’m also happy to get an update on JoJo and his family.

Number Four

This wasn’t my favorite in the series. Truthfully, I struggled at parts with the story. The strong LGBTQ angle of the story wasn’t what I’d expected. The romance between the two lead characters never felt truly realized, until the very end, and like I said, it was a struggle to get there. Enjoyed the series overall and am a fan of Ms. Lyse’s writing.
