Nils Holgersson is a naughty boy who tortures animals and never listens to his parents - until one day he wakes up as an elf. Deeply puzzled by his new status, he climbs on a gander's back and flies away with him, joining a flock of wild geese. As he is carried around Sweden, Nils learns everything about birds, animals, his country and good behaviour. Incredibly charming and poignant, The Wonderful Adventure of Nils Holgersson is a timeless classic loved by generations of children around the world.

Delightful and full of tenderness. The various animals really come to life. Highly recommended for kids and adults

Imaginative

Properly pronounced Swedish place names, multiple human and animal characters, and lyrical prose, all handled with amazing virtuosity. Beautifully engaging, affecting, and soothing.

Incredible narrator

What an interesting book; a classic Swedish children’s story from 1906. It’s a highly entertaining fantasy story about a boy who is turned into a tiny gnome, who rides on the back of a goose and flies all over Sweden, having adventures as he learns about each region. It’s a pretty clean book, although “ass” is used in the old-fashioned British sense to mean a silly person. The animals in the story talk, but they still act like real animals, for the most part, so some characters are killed by foxes, etc. The narrator was excellent, and particularly helpful in this case because he knows how to pronounce all the Swedish names! He was a little slow, but I set it at 1.2x speed, and that was just right.

Fascinating and Unique

A Wonderful Adventure Indeed

the performance is all right, the story is one of my most favorite! but the point is that the audio book finishes literally right in the middle of the original book .. and nothing else!!!

it is only a Half if The Story !!!!
