When the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche talks about "will to power", it has nothing to do with the will to dominate. To understand a man like Nietzsche, you have to have at least the same standard of consciousness, if not higher. Fascists like Adolf Hitler and other totalitarian politicians are too foolish - it is impossible to think that they can understand the meaning of Nietzsche. "The will to power" is diametrically opposite to the will to dominate. The will to dominate comes out of an inferiority complex, wanting to dominate others to prove superiority. The really superior person needs no proof. He certainly has a "will to power", but with a very fine distinction. His will to power means: He wants to grow to his fullest expression.

It has nothing to do with anybody else, its whole concern is the individual himself.

This Osho talk utilitizes the name the of a book friedrich nietzsche wrote called the will to power. This talk starts off talking about Hitler and the Germans: how they took this book and misinterpreted it. Nietzsche's concept of the Superman was not about domination or seizing power but about a man reaching his greatest potential. The second part of this Osho talk was the most entertaining with a great deal of humorous anecdotes with the normal Osho charm. He emphasized the power of love and how love is not about domination and if you dominate another person you cannot do that from a position of love. He also mentioned how one of the largest issues mankind deals with is communication and being misinterpreted. He suggested speaking far less and listening more is better and that a ten word answer like if you were sending a telegram is far more effective. Than your chances of being misinterpreted are far less because there is no longer an excessive amount of words.

Osho talks about the power of love and how problematic domination is in a misunderstanding world.
