Do not recommend. Must have had a good intent to share knowledge but was wordy, did not gain the knowledge expected.

Commending the narrator as well.

I felt like the woman who told this story was the perfect fit. She was empathetic and good at explaining the situation. Until now, I have never read an audiobook, but she did good at reading. There will be a lot of things I need to try to make sure I avoid these situations and I hope everything works! I cannot wait to read more books on this same topic and see how everything else compares.

This is a good book.

It is something that helped me a lot. With emotional problems. I have not been emotionally abused but this taught me a lot about the emotional abuse. And there were even ways to avoid and get rid of it before hooks dig in too deep. I wish this was a book I could put on my shelf and read, but listening to it is good.

It isn't dull.

Educational and self-help books are usually dull and easy to turn off. I felt like I connected with this book on such a high level that boredom or information overload was not a problem. Terrible voice telling the story, but great book.

I enjoyed this book a lot!

I would have liked to see a little more emotion in the book, especially since it is discussing such an emotional topic. It was too scientific with a decent amount of minor research jargon. Just not enough emotional explanation.

Overall, the book was exactly what I wanted.

There are a few minor issues, but overall the book was exactly what I wanted. I learned types of emotional abuse I regularly handled throughout my life without realizing what problems I have truly faced. It draws some parts too long and doesn’t explain some quite enough. But the information inside is priceless.

I had high expectations for it.

I was looking for a book strictly on a relationship. There was very little relationship stuff in this book compared to the workplace emotional abuse and other stuff. I would have preferred to see relationship emotional abuse stuff, which is what I assume most people want.

This book is worth every penny.

I respect that this book is not only cheap, but it’s written solely to help people facing this problem. For years I dealt with the worst types of emotional abuse and thought I was healed until current triggers. This book is helping me cope with feelings that have long been suppressed.

I prefer purely factual/

For a book that focuses on a lot of emotions, there really wasn’t much emotion in the book. Personally, I enjoy reading something that’s purely factual and undiluted by emotion. Though personal accounts on how to approach the situation would have been better. I look forward to opening my eyes to the emotional abuse I usually don’t notice.

Some real-life scenarios.

There were a few things that really put this book above and beyond. For starters, the book does not assume that it is being consumed by someone in a relationship. It uses so many real-life scenarios that usually go unseen.

disheartening

The first advice to stop emotional abuse is "Enhance your self-exteem. [...] Find your strengths and maximize on them will deny the bully the opportunity in frustrating us " . Sure. Easy to do, why I didn't figure this out by myself?
The performance is poor: not very interpretive reading.
