Such a fun series!

I just love all these characters --- and the animal additions were perfect. A well-plotted tale, with laugh-out loud funny dialogue, told with great care by a wonderful narrator.

VERY HUMOROUS SERIES!!

I love the narrator of this book - MARY JANE WELLS!!! She reads this series (and this book) excellently!!! She knows HOW to read the humor, and her voice is great for both the male and female voices! Her reading made this book a pleasure to listen to!
I just love humorous situations within a book and the author, Tessa Dare, writes them so well in this series. It's just too bad that all her stories (or at least most of them) are not humorous! This is the 2nd book in the ""Girl Meets Duke" series, and I love the women in this series! They are so advanced in their lives compared to what was expected of Regency women of that time. Most are voracious readers, there is one that has a tender heart for taking in all stray and less than perfect animals, one who is a chemist and baker, one who is terrific at clock repair and who has traveled all over the place, good at math! The men are great too. They all start out stubborn and committed to living as bachelors but, of course, each woman eventually changes their man's mind. I really hope that MARY JANE WELLS becomes a sought after narrator among these Regency/Victorian romance novels, especially the funny ones! She is a perfect reader for them!!

Funny, romantic and tissue needed

This is my first book by this author and I bought it based on reviews. Throughly enjoyable. Narration was good, but I think she fell flat at times but it’s so hard to find good narrators! She did a good job considering some I’ve heard. Good storyline!

Read this book !

I absolutely loved this book. I fell in love with the characters. Could not quit listening.

clever, witty and funny

I absolutely loved this book. It's clever, witty and hysterically funny. I spent the whole length of listening to this book texting back and forth with my daughter, lines from the book...she had all ready listened to it. We both loved it and were also very happy to have a romance that the woman wasn't rescued or a push over. I kind of think that Gabe was rescued..All the characters were lovley because they were not perfect. They were loyal and kind. It was really wonderfull that the charaacters were kind. ...I would love to have any of the them as friends. Listen to this book only if you want to chuckle and laugh out loud, otherwise skip it. Also the narration was PERFECT. I'm looking at any book the narrator has worked on, that's how perfect she was!

One of the best books ever

Must read/listen to all historical romance readers. A great theme, relevant through several generations, a superb narration by Mary Jane Wells. Ms Tessa Date's 25th Historical is a knockout!

Enchanting!

the story...the narrator.. are pitch perfect... can't wait for the next instalment of this very clever and very funny series. If you like Lisa Kleypas this author is definitely for you! Can't recommend this series highly enough!
