Excellent start to a new series!

If you love historical fiction, Cameron is one of the best writers out there. He picked a location near and dear to my heart - Venice - probably my favorite city in the world. He has an intriguing main character with a fascinating cast of minor characters. Plenty of action and intrigue and an intricate look at the politics of Venice in the mid-17th century....

An erudite historian with a gifted pen, Christian Cameron is a consummate author of historical fiction, excelling with each new endeavor. With this newer series we have another great read in an already impressive body of work.

Fun spy novel in a cool setting

Enjoyed the cast of characters and general stumbling around trying to solve a murder, could have used some more mystery regarding the identity of the killer but all in all a good bit of swashbuckling
