A Message from The Author

Writing The Undead is a humbling experience. I am eternally grateful to the readers and listeners for the incredible support you always show.

Dan Morgan superbly narrated Parts 1 to 10, but unfortunately he was not able to continue. To my delight, the wonderfully talented Joe Jameson has now taken the series on. His range and skills are superb.

I am aware of the feedback about the voice of one of my characters, Dave. If this change has upset your listening experience then I can only apologise, but both Joe and I, and everyone at Audible, have listened to the points you made and take them very seriously. It is a wonderful thing to have such responsive fans, so willing to listen and work to make it better, plus the interactive nature of the series means you the listener can speak out and say what you like and don't like, otherwise how would we know?

We've got some cracking days ahead of us. Some real stonking rip-roaring storylines to come and both Joe and I can only hope you'll stay with us on this journey.

Take care,

RR Haywood.

After the carnage of the night and dealing with an infected Lani, the team leave the fort and once more venture into rural towns to find food and buy time. As the day wears on, the tension between Howie and Marcy grows, with increasingly petty arguments that sap the morale of the others.

They find a deserted village where the infection strikes in vast numbers. With too many to fight head-on, the lads flee and take refuge in an old mansion. Meanwhile, Marcy and Howie become trapped in a house, and the scientist riding on horseback stumbles across the village.

james

Good story but .... still ruined Dave sigh.
I hope they can get Dan back. James would be ok if he done it from the beginning but the sounds are now part of the story.

new voice

still trying to get use to the new voice the way Dave Cartier sounds now is weird after so many hours of Dan Morgans way of portraying Dave's cartiter and the new way of Nick's cartiter...

Getting irritated with the characters

The characters are acting dumber and more immature as the books progress. It's getting a bit harder to listen to because you want to reach in and smack them.

Went really fast

I've grown used to Joe by now. Dave's voice is still off and the little boy is annoying, but I'm in the groove now and Joe is moving things along. The story thus far is exciting and has me guessing what happens next. I'm not pleased with the turn of events with "her" but I get it. So day 17 took me less than a week to finish. So, now I wait for day 18. Hint hint.

=<br />Review

The storyline got a little squirrelly between Howie and Marcie. The two of them sounded like kids. Disappointed. Having said that, I like the series and hope that the next installment is better. Cheer!

Great series

Love this take on zombie apocalypse. The characters are great. So much humor in this series along with the gore. If you like zombie stories this is a good one.

Another 3 great books More please!

If you could sum up The Undead, Part 13 in three words, what would they be?

Gripping, touching characters

What did you like best about this story?

Camaraderie between the team and the introduction of new characters there is so much more story to be told as it turns and weaves.

Have you listened to any of Joe Jameson’s other performances? How does this one compare?

All the Undead books are great and strong profmances.

Any additional comments?

It took a while to get use to Joe Jameson narration especially with Paula voice, but accepted now and doesn't spoil the whole experience. Just don't be too long in releasing the next 3!

Getting better and better

What made the experience of listening to The Undead, Part 13 the most enjoyable?

Howie and Marcy when they are alone, Clarence looking after Reggie, and meeting one of my favourite characters for the first time

Who was your favorite character and why?

thats like asking me to pick my favourite pair of shoes, but Meredith, Howie, Blowers and Cookey are pretty near the top

What about Joe Jameson’s performance did you like?

Hes found his stride, it must be so hard to take over after so many previous books, and hes getting more into it with each episode.
In my personal opinion the books get better and better, (day 20 anyone? wow) so he has some excellent storylines coming up.

want to stop listening

Listened to the Paco/Heather story first now up to book 15. Many of the characters irritate me esp Mr Howie a lot of the dialogue is repetitive but there must be something about the series i like because i keep listening - just dont ask me what it is that keeps me listening to them.

Still love this series

I love this series. There is a new narrator but after a while you'll soon get used to and love the new style. To me this feels more real then the previous audible versions

IN A LEAGUE OF ITS OWN!

Forget all the other zompoc stories you have read! don't get me wrong there is some good ones out there but..... The Undead is in a league of its own!
RR Haywood is a very clever and fantastic writer who has created the most amazing characters all bringing a special trait to the table and the chemistry works incredibly well.
If you want pure emotion, love, rage, darkness, epic battles and insane laughter throughout then look no further!!! your all in for a massive treat.
don't be too hard on the transition of narrators!
it took me of part 11 too swallow down hard and start adjusting, either he was or I was? because holy shit Jameson your absolutely fantastic I mean really good! his accents and dielicts are insanely good!! well done james!
Thank you RR HAYWOOD keep them coming!
