The battle for survival against the Undead continues. Three weeks of highs and lows, and the group are celebrating their victories and nursing their hurts like never before.

They head out once more to a world where the threat comes from an altogether different foe, and in their darkest hour so far, the infection might just be their only ally as Marcy finally finds her role in the team.

But will Howie accept it? Will it tear them apart? Will they do the right thing?

It's another great book to listen to. I love how it's putting a greater story by setting a collision coarse that will be a damn good fight!!

i loved it

I laughed. I cried. I giggled. I sobbed. I cheered. I swore. This story shows you the worst of human depravity and the best of the human soul.

Very powerful

I love the writing. I love it takes place in the UK. I love how fast pace it is. I love how raunchy it can be. I love absolutely everything about this book. My only complaint, and why it's not 5 stars through and through. Is that I wish it was the original narrator had read the series all the way through. I did fall in love with the original narrator, I felt he read every part so perfectly and the charecters so dang well. However, I started this series listening to it on YouTube. But the videos got taken down, as happens often. Eventually I realized our Amazon plan gave me 1 free audio book a month. I was literally aching to finish reading the series. I went a while without, but I wrote down where I left off so I would remember. Then started listening to it through my Amazon music app. And now here I am at audible. The guy who I heard read the beginning of the series was definitely the best at it. I do wish he could have finished the series. But it I still deeply love the series. And am quite impressed by this narrator. It's impossible to not become utterly invested in the characters and their stories. Amazing charecter development in my opinion. I've even caught myself drawing from this series at times in my day to day life. This might sound ridiculous...but its something I've always done. Trying to emmulate myself from the strong persevering tenacious resilient overcoming determined and unyeilding characters that I've fallen in love with through stories over the years. At times when I feel weak. I will quietly think to myself things like "be strong like Dave" and, "to not give up like howie." I can draw a resolution and vehemence within myself. From the characters I love. Its just a little tool I've always kept in my back pocket. Anyways, Its a great book. Fantastic series. Right up my ally. I could go on and on about how much I love it, truly.

I freaking love this series! Definitely in my top 3 favorite book series ever.

Totally fascinating book. The story goes back to day 8, but with different characters. There are references to the Howie team's activities which you would already know about if you have been reading the series from the beginning. However: much of the book is about Gregori, an ugly stone cold talented killer, and the little orphan boy about 5 or 6 years old that Gregori feel compelled to protect. The little boy is weird!! He loves seeing people get killed so that he can see their brains and sausages. He communes telepathically with the undead and they are drawn to him, but will not attack him. Gregori and the Boy meet up with Cassie early on in the story. She has been held prisoner by kidnappers out in the country and does not even know that the zombies have taken over the world. Gregori begins to protect her too, and she is also drawn to the little boy. It is a spellbinding story told by master storyteller Haywood. I did not want to stop to go to sleep, but I had to at 2:30am.

This is the best zombie series I have read. My other two favorites are Zombie Road series and the Mountain Man series. In the Undead, RR Haywood creates great characters and writes witty quick dialog that can be very funny at times. I mourned the loss of the first narrator, Dan Morgan, who was totally amazing,

I highly recommend this series, but urge you to start with the first book that covers the first three days, and go forward because the story and the characters grow constantly throughout. Plus, there are quite a few great characters that get killed off over the course of the series. If you don't read from the beginning, you will miss some really great characters that don't exist by Undead 17.

Fantastic - one of the best in the series

This is my second favourite series. I love the main characters and the fact that they are fallible and making occasional mistakes that add to their realism. Only Tufo trumps this wonderful group of misfits. I can't wait to start the next one,and am fascinated to see where and how the boy and Gregory fit into the puzzle. Well done Mr Haywood, keep writing please. Also, Mr Jameson is nothing short of astounding.

Just gets better a better
