Publisher's summary

Mankind hangs on by a thread in the wake of the apocalypse. Other races are soon to join the struggle for power on Earth. The Culling of Man was only the beginning....

Scattered across the globe, ten Dungeons may provide humanity with the protection and power they'll need to remain relevant through the perils to come.

Before a Dungeon can be claimed, it must be conquered.

Garath's goal is clear: Claim the nearest Dungeon for humanity. But he can't do it alone. Old friends and new acquaintances band together to form an elite team and take on The Tower of Vy'thishrak.

In the second installation of Peril's Prodigy, we take a closer look at several new Classes and abilities. Explore a plethora of new dungeons. Finally find out what's inside that damned mysterious egg. And watch Garath's group of survivors in their attempt to claim The Tower.

excellent

Fantastic, no complaints, if I had to nit pick something, the end was a bit abrupt. otherwise, This is a fun, and well paced book. The narrator good and clear. The story while mostly light and fun had serious moments. I definitely will be getting the next book as soon as it comes out.

Couldn't finish.

After about the twentieth time (this is not an exaggeration) where the author inexplicably tells us the definition of a stat is in a 'tooltip', I had to put this audiobook down before I threw my phone out the window.

2nd installment in a great LITRPG series

This is a great series. Premise is based on the earth being taken over and invaded by some entity that puts the human race through a culling process that entails them choosing a class and facing Off against invading hordes. The survivors have a limited amount of time to level up and take over dungeons and make them homes for the human race before the next wave. Everything comes with a price. Everything has its risks. Can you trust those around you? Can you afford not to? This is the tale of a group of survivors that (mostly) survived the first wave and now must level up and take a dungeon. Really well written and very well narrated this is a must for fantasy, sci-fi, LITRPG, gamelit, post apocalypse fans. Highly recommend it. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

did not disappoint

i really enjoyed this one.

continuing the last book this one focuses more on the Dungeons/dungeons and the guild growth. i enjoyed the character development of a few of the characters that i liked that became a bigger part of the story.

i liked the references and " nods " to things irl that i think most people listening would enjoy.

the narration is done well. easy to tell who is who with the different voices for each character.

only disappointment is that now i have to wait for the next one

A solid sequel

Enter our reluctant hero and leader into this second installment of the series were he regroups with old friends, over comes certain weaknesses and realizes that the trouble as is always the case, has just begun.

If you enjoyed book one definitely dive back into this sequel and get ready for some character development and solid adventure.... And that danged cat!

Is this even the same book?

The MC has really turned into an impetulant child prone to violence and overrun with ego. It’s like a completely different guy from the first book.

bad narrator

I'm not sure this narrator has a soft palate or just a bad lisp.... it turns and almost good story into an absolutely bad can't take a shower for serious when they're giving a motivational speech that supposed to be inspiring in every other word has a lisp

stop describing what the stats do all the time

based on book 1 and first part on book 2, omg stop describing what the stats do all the goddamn time, the book is probably 5% just repeating the same thing when it doesnt even matter. just describe them like 2-3 times in a book and the rest of the time you can just mention the stat and not describe it in details unless hes focusing on what it does. same with all the repetetive things tbh.

Kill the cat!

The MC gets a incredible powerful item from the egg. The cat steals it and ten seconds later he says he doesn't care.

The author uses this as the biggest fuck you to the reader. He doesn't understand that hyping up the egg for two books and then having it ripped away by a worthless cat is literally the worst possible outcome.

If the cat is not dead or stripped of the item so the MC can use I will not be continuing to read this series.

I simply refuse to support a author that treats his readers like a monkey treats its feces.

Furthermore the way that the MC is treated by the romantic prospect shows that the author has a pretty normal view of how a relationship is supposed to work. In short the male is 100% responsible for the relationship needs to apologise for anything the girl finds upsetting even if he did nothing wrong and is also expected to understand when the girl is upset and read her mind and then apologise for it.

The 'fun' light hearted style of the books comes off more like a childish whine.

And finally the narrator is okey but sometimes has a lisp and sounds a little childish.
