Publisher's Summary

Charlie and Josh's interests were the same as most other teenagers: drinking, parties, and girls. That was until the day they discovered the Time Bubble.

It starts as a bit of fun, jumping a few seconds into the future. Soon things take a more serious turn as the leaps in time increase in duration. When a teenage girl goes missing, and the police become involved, suspicion falls on Charlie. How can he explain where she is? Will anyone believe him?

Set in a small market town in Southern England in the early 21st century, this light-hearted time travel novel has plenty to delight listeners of all ages.

This story is the first part of a series which continues with Global Cooling, Man out of Time, and Splinters in Time. A spin-off series, Second Chances, is also available.

Interesting story

The writing is clunky at times, with distracting descriptions and the characters were somewhat predictable and stagnant. But the story is compelling and captured my attention. There were recording issues that appeared to be shoddy editing. Overall, it was entertaining enough to get past.

Substandard recording makes the story inaccessible.

As a fan of time travel, I was looking forward to listening to The Time Bubble, especially as it is part of a series. I was disappointed that there was little care put into the audiobook: The story and writing seemed fine but the narration felt like the emphasis was in the wrong places and no dramatic reading - it was too distracting for me. The reading felt more like the shipping forecast than a novel. And whoever produced it has taken no time to listen to it: I turned it off in chapter 3 at 1min 22, when the narrator stumbled on a line, tutted, then repeated the line again and continued the reading.

Awful narration.

I've heard some great narrators and annoying narrators (probably my fault if I just didn't like the voice or nuances) but this is the worse. Just lazy, at times it sounds like Google translate. I don't think he prepared and read through passages first. There are times (one right at the beginning) where he makes an error, tuts, and just reads it out again! Makes you wonder if /what the editors are doing and if the author listened or cared?
