Excellent Story

This story is told very well with lots of likable characters. As soon as I finished this book I downloaded another of Jenny Blackhurst's books. She is such a great storyteller.
The narration is very good, also.
One interesting thing that this American reader (listener) noted is that when British authors talk about people, women and men both, wearing "jumpers" they aren't meaning "a shoulder-to-thigh girl's dress" mostly worn by children. No. A "jumper" in Britain is more like a hoodie.

Interesting twist to the plot!

I really liked the flow and story line, the plot changed directions suddenly, characters were well written!

Lots of incorrect American word usage

It’s entertaining enough, I like books like this to keep me entertained while I’m running. But as a few others have pointed out, the author clearly did not have a single American read her book (which takes place in the U.S.) before publishing. No American would call the bathroom “the loo”, or refer to a bandaid as a “plaster”. Many many examples of this. All it would have taken is one American reading this to have spotted and corrected this!

Good storytelling!

The story is interesting, woven in a way that makes the end surprising. The scene seems true enough, with the super rich acting with impunity, although it’s a bit of an overused trope. But I did enjoy the story.

My advice to British authors is to have an American proofread the dialogue for the American characters. We do not say “jumper” or “car park”, nor are we ever “keen on” another person. It’s a small detail overall, but a glaring mistake in an otherwise good listen.

Great book - brilliantly narrated

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and fast paced. I will definitely check out more books by the author.

If I could give ten stars for the narration, I would. Looking for more books narrated by her.

Great Listen!

First time reading this author and enjoyed the plot twists and turns. The story has a great pace and realistic characters with realistic flaws. I will definitely be looking at other titles from this author.

This is an interesting book altogether, and mostly well written. I figured out who'd done it a bit too early, and I found some of the rnding a bit preachy, to say this is a excellent book, but it was an enjoyable binge, and well worth a listen.
