Publisher's summary

King Jarvin is in exile, and his only hope is for Azerick and his wizard friends, along with a small army out of North Haven, to ride to the rescue. But the traitor and his vastly superior forces are not the greatest threat to the kingdom. Far to the North, a lich of extraordinary power has been gathering dark energy for years and is nearly ready to release it upon the living. Back home, Azerick's apprentice finds herself in so much trouble she may single-handedly reignite the war between Valeria and their southern neighbor.

Love the stories but narration is so so

I’ve listen to all the book in this series. The content is good but the narration is just ok. I think it’s impressive the writer wants to take on narration but a good professional narrator would make the whole experience better.

Great Series

I enjoyed the telling of another great story from this wonderful series, with all of the characters that make up the story with a bit of humor tossed in along the story line.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series with great anticipation.

Review

Before I started listening to this audiobook the author made a few comments about the story and it might not be till everyone’s liking, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Before I even give my review I have to say between book 1, 2&3 was pretty decent in many ways I enjoyed it. A book 4 wasn’t too bad and it conclude some of the overall stories. But sorcerers source, WAS BAD!!. The writing was all over the place. This is book 5 and he’s introducing new characters with just doesn’t make sense. He made comments before the books start saying that new characters are necessary for the progression of the story, which is just bullshit!. Most of these characters could either be introduced in 2,3 or 4. He had more than enough time to do that. Book one alone was very slow and it focuses mostly on character development. all these new characters he had introduced in the book 5 could’ve been introduced in book 1. The main character is in about 30% of the book. he’s become pretty much an asshole, I find myself rooting against him. I find myself rooting for the main characters to be killed because they kept make it one stupid decision after another🙄!. This book is a far cry from the first three books that came before it. This book is definitely a skip for me👎👎👎👎👎. Which is sad because I enjoyed the first 3 books and even though the narrator wasn’t brought back for 4 still wasn’t too bad. Big disappointment!!!
