Sometimes You Win: Part 1

Haley Rosewood’s life has never been easy, especially not with a class-A jerk for a boss and a marketing job that barely pays her enough to provide a roof over her daughter’s head and food for the table. Every day is a struggle, and the thought of being romantically involved with anyone is a dream she doesn’t dare indulge.

Devon Carrington is the type of man to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and when he finds Haley struggling through a bad day, he does everything he can. In return, he asks that she help him pick out lottery numbers and tells her that if he wins, she gets half.

When the winning numbers are drawn, and Devon and Haley learn that they have won, can the two of them put their one-night stand behind them and build something for the future? Find out in Sometimes You Win.

Sometimes You Lose: Part 2

It’s been three weeks since Haley Rosewood and Devon Carrington won the lottery. Most people would picture their days taking them from one exciting journey to another and their nights filled with champagne and caviar as appetizers to unbridle their passion - but that’s not what happens.

Instead, Haley is trying to find a new home, a place to start her business, and a way to keep control of her life. Devon is only trying to help her, but it seems that everything he does just pushes Haley’s buttons in the wrong way.

When a new contract comes into his security company, it threatens not only the future of his company, but Haley and Allison’s welfare, as well. Devon must take drastic measures to stop it, and Haley has to trust him, but can she before it’s too late? Or will her trust in him be what destroys her in Sometimes You Lose?

Sometimes You Play the Game: Part 3

Haley Rosewood’s life has been turned upside down by the man she loved and trusted - not only is she locked up in a jail cell, away from her daughter, but she has no idea whom to trust. Frustratingly, Haley will have to depend on Devon’s siblings to extricate her from a legal embroilment that could leave her in prison for years.

Devon Carrington did what he thought was right to protect Haley and her daughter Allison, but everyone around him has a different opinion: Eric thinks he’s crazy, Brenda is furious, and Chuck just shakes his head.

Haley must put aside her emotions and pretend to be something she’s not in order to return home and be with her daughter. Finding the proof that she was telling the truth is going to be harder than she anticipated, and when ghosts from her past arrive at her front door, she’s not sure she can trust them.

Will Haley be able to prove she didn’t kidnap her daughter, or will she end up losing everything and having to watch her daughter grow up from behind bars? Find out in this final installment of the Sometimes Series trilogy.

Intriguing, Steamy Hot and Good Performance! 3.5

This is a 3 book series all in one Audiobook, so it was nice to listen to the entire story for a change.

The Sometimes Series is intriguing, well-developed and entertaining. Stacy and Devon's chemistry was steamy hot, however, their connection a bit hard to believe. Sometimes, characters are hard to believe or hard to connect with. It could also be that the performance was good but not great (unemotional at times), so I found myself taking a break a couple of times.

Nevertheless, the story was entertaining and original. 4 STARS
Perfomance: 3.5 STARS

An unexpected Journey of Love

This series had twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. In addition to that there were several aspects that I could relate to people I know. For me books like that capture and hold my attention from start to finish and this book was not different. The journey of and bumpa along the way make those story one I will definitely reread in the days and years to come.

I liked this storyline a lot. The selflessness of the male lead character was admirable even though it appeared to be a bit overdone, almost to the point of being unbelievable because after a certain point common sense kicks in!😊The main female character was whiny 😫 at times, insensitive, selfish , and insecure 😟 of herself. She always needed validation and was quick to jump to conclusions without thinking things through. With everything that occurred in the story, it was great that they managed to get a HEA!

Not the same old same old

**I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.**

WOW!!!! This is a great story, I liked that it was kinda dirty, R-rated sex scenes, which I enjoyed. The story was GREAT!!!! It isn't your typical love story formula and I couldn't predict what would happen next. Listening to this book you won't be disappointed. Will look for other books by this author because of the original sto

Get the 3 part set........ I would have been frustrated if I got only 1 part for a credit, since they ended on cliff hangers.

Mixed Feelings

I love some of Stacy Easton's books and slog through others. I had mixed feelings about this one. some parts, like the last 2 hours were great and exciting, but at certain parts I found the h and H both very unlikable and wished they would just go their separate ways. Stacy's books sometimes repeat scenes from each character's viewpoint. This series isn't as bad as some of them, but sometime it's repetitive and doesn't add much to the story.

Enjoyable Story / Some Unrealistic Moments

I'm a Stacy Eaton fan and have enjoyed her multi-book sets in the past. Overall this trilogy tells an enjoyable story. Of the 3, I enjoyed the first book most but felt like I enjoyed one of the characters less and less as the story went along. I found that over time, Haley began to grate on me. No matter how much Devon did for her, she always through an ulterior motive onto it. She always questioned his motives, whether he was going for her money, etc. After a while, it started wearing on me and I had to take a break from listening for a while before picking it back up. The dual narration was fantastic and I would listen to either of these narrators again.

Entrancing!

This box set, by Stacy Eaton, includes all three books in the Sometimes series: Sometimes you Win, Sometimes you Lose and Sometimes You Play the Game. Haley is the hard-working single mom of Allison. They live paycheck to paycheck and she works for a despicable boss, but she has goals of having her own business. Devon owns a security business, right across the hall from Haley, and he spends more time watching for her to come to work than he does at his own desk. When he sees her bolt from the office and head toward the garage, he has to check to make sure she's all right. He gets her to open up and he finds out her life is difficult because she's trying to support Allison and herself, repair a car that's seen better days, work at a job where she's disrespected and the pressures are all piling up on her. What she hasn't told him is that Allison's father isn't in her life, but Allison hasn't been told that he didn't want anything to do with her and signed away his parental rights. What Haley doesn't know is that her ex-boyfriend is stalking her and waiting for just the right time to make his appearance. Through the 3 episodes, Devon and Haley get close, but she doesn't trust anyone enough to let him into her life. She won't give up control and no one tells her what to do. By the time her life begins to implode, I'm not too happy with her childish behavior and almost wish that Devon would go find someone else! From winning the lottery together, to finding a blazing passion, to both of them loving Allison and wanting to be a whole family, this is a sweet, spicy, sometimes a bit violent, but always gratifying trilogy.
The narration by Gene Branson and Julie Walters is well done with dynamic voices that blend well with just the right emotion and excellent pace to bring the characters to life.

Good!

Enjoyed reading this book. Romantic and exciting. Not overly sexually explicit. Liked that it had a male and a female narrator.

All in one!

This is all three books of the Sometimes Series! No waiting for the next book to find out what happens next.
Haley and Devon have a rocky start and a lot of issues to overcome. Devon is an extremely sweet guy, but he also thinks he knows best which makes him aggravating at times. Haley is a tough and independent woman with trust issues. This causes issues with her future with Devon. Just when you think the story is going one way it goes in another interesting storyline.
