Publisher's Summary

Dear Listener,

Like handshakes or housepets, many things are preferable when not slippery. Unfortunately, in this miserable volume, I am afraid that Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire run into more than their fair share of slipperiness during their harrowing journey up, and down, a range of strange and distressing mountains.

It would be best not to mention any of the unpleasant details of this story, particularly a secret message, a swarm of snow gnats, a scheming villain, a covered casserole dish, and a surprising survivor of a terrible fire.

Unfortunately, I have dedicated my life to researching and recording the sad tale of the Baudelaire Orphans. There is no reason for you to dedicate yourself to such things, and you might instead dedicate yourself to letting this slippery audio slip from your hands into a nearby trash receptacle, or deep pit.

With all due respect,
Lemony Snicket

Critic Reviews

"Characters are true to form, ridiculous and fun, and, once again, the wry telling is pitch-perfect, with plenty of the joyful wordplay and the quirky imaginative touches Snicket's legions of fans expect." (Booklist)

I love these books, and with Tim Curry's amazing voices, they are even better. These books are the best ever!

Great Narration

Tim Curry does an excellent job narrating. He pauses in all the right places and even made me laugh out loud at times. If you already love this series, the aubiobook will make you love it even more.

Story is great and for the most part so is the reader

This is a great book, good for most Ages! The reader is great except the female voices are not his best work. I sometimes wish there was more than one reader to do the female voices.

If You've Read This Far

and you've watched Tim Curry then you know what to expect. BRILLIANT AMAZING and THRILLING.

Once again the Baudelaire Children must balance defeating Count Olaf AND learn more about the VFD, this time atop a mountain, against snow gnats and TWO new villians who've been able to harness the power of eagles!
