Publisher's Summary

Dear Listener,

Like handshakes or housepets, many things are preferable when not slippery. Unfortunately, in this miserable volume, I am afraid that Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire run into more than their fair share of slipperiness during their harrowing journey up, and down, a range of strange and distressing mountains.

It would be best not to mention any of the unpleasant details of this story, particularly a secret message, a swarm of snow gnats, a scheming villain, a covered casserole dish, and a surprising survivor of a terrible fire.

Unfortunately, I have dedicated my life to researching and recording the sad tale of the Baudelaire Orphans. There is no reason for you to dedicate yourself to such things, and you might instead dedicate yourself to letting this slippery audio slip from your hands into a nearby trash receptacle, or deep pit.

With all due respect,
Lemony Snicket

Critic Reviews

"Characters are true to form, ridiculous and fun, and, once again, the wry telling is pitch-perfect, with plenty of the joyful wordplay and the quirky imaginative touches Snicket's legions of fans expect." (Booklist)

sticky

I'm not trying to be picky, but I feel like it's relevant to ppint out that virgin/extra virgin olive oil is not sticky

Amazing

I love these books, and with Tim Curry's amazing voices, they are even better. These books are the best ever!

Great Narration

Tim Curry does an excellent job narrating. He pauses in all the right places and even made me laugh out loud at times. If you already love this series, the aubiobook will make you love it even more.

The series of unfortunate events

I love ❤️ this series ! If you've read these books 📚 1-10 come read "THE GRIM GROTTO " then "THE PENULTIMATE PERIL" and finish the series with "THE END " ,and reread the series from THE BAD BEGINNI-
NG,THE REPTILE 🦎 ROOM,THE WIDE WINDOW, AND SO ON.P.S. you should start a commonplace book 📚 like I am.

Good but disturbing

This , -like all the rest of the books in the series - is a great listen but is definitely scary. Not recommended for kids that get scared or upset by unfortunate and unfair stories. I also loved how resourceful Violet (the oldest of the 3 children ) was throughout the entire book. She is a great role model for girls everywhere.

Very nice

I love that lemony Snicket uses the most precise words but I wouldn’t recommend this book if you’re under the age of eight because it is very gruesome but if you made it this far you arty know how gruesome it is
