Publisher's Summary

Following The Black Elfstone, the second book of the epic four-part conclusion to the Shannara series from one of the acknowledged masters of the fantasy genre.

Tensions in the Four Lands are high. The mysterious force that laid waste to Paranor has revealed a more human face. While some gain a new understanding of the invaders and what they are after, others continue their existing quests even as the peril rises. For what looked to be a formidable invading force proves only the forerunner of a much vaster army - one that is now marching against the Four Lands in all its fury.

Life is changing for all. The Four Lands will never be the same. Old players are reborn in old ways.

fantastic

I can't believe it ended the way it did.. if I were a druid Terry Brooks would be in big trouble. now I have to wait to the next book in the series to be released. come on Terry, get a move on. I'm an old man and I don't know if I could last long enough to wait.

The British accent. not how I envisioned

many of the words are fictional so is anyone's guess as to how they're rightfully pronounced. Also, the imutations of characters male to females throws me a bit, but otherwise the guy did as good as one can expect

Big fan of all Shannara

the I really liked this 2nd book, the ‘Princess’ & “The Blade/“sword of LEAH” is an interesting idea, this is the first time that the ‘narrator’s “voice and vocal characterizations” were really killing the Princess’s character, I can’t get paste that voice. Overall they are good, Vance was good, with the, actually there are a couple of the female characters that just don’t work, for me, that one not so much for me”
In general Vance’s work makes anything easy to listen to. Overall all, this book is, not one of, Vance’s best but he does do a LOT of ‘unique’ characterizations & voices.

This book is, IMO, is much clearer, on character s but the story line is kind of all over the place. I’d continually look at my player to make sure I didn’t skip fireard

Just a question?

How did the elf prince use the elf stones, when he stole them?

The story was very enjoyable, but it was a little disconcerting about the elf stones.

Bitter Sweet Story

Continued great and wonderful writing from Terry! This story continues of what will be for all of us the end of something so near and dear to our hearts. This is why this great continuation is so bitter sweet for me. Keep writing this great series strong and to the end we all journey.
