Publisher's summary

Private Detective Cormoran Strike is contacted by a worried father whose son, Will, has gone to join a religious cult in the depths of the Norfolk countryside.

The Universal Humanitarian Church is, on the surface, a peaceable organisation that campaigns for a better world. Yet Strike discovers that beneath the surface there are deeply sinister undertones, and unexplained deaths.

In order to try to rescue Will, Strike's business partner Robin Ellacott decides to infiltrate the cult and she travels to Norfolk to live incognito amongst them. But in doing so, she is unprepared for the dangers that await her there or for the toll it will take on her...

Unstoppable, The Running Grave moves Strike and Robin's story forward in the epic, unforgettable seventh instalment of the series.

Not an ordinary novel

You get swept into this dire warning about yet another of human perils, very human, very perilous. The beloved characters come out of it ever so admirable, deep, complex and brave. It is a universal tale set in a bleak surrounding, warmed by genuine love and care. Can't get enough of her writing, can't wait for the next chapter. Robert Glenister's performance is outstanding and brings all the nuances to life.

I was hooked from the first chapter.

This is the most recent of the series and I think the best. Robert Glenister reads this book magnificently and the book is too good to put down. The plot twists and turns and the characters are all brilliantly described and enacted. Please hurry up and write the next book.

Long, but compelling

I started with apprehension of the many hours ahead, but was soon drawn in and fascinated by how this tale would unravel. The performance is outstanding. I preferred it to ink black heart, and back on track to looking forward to the next Strike Ellacott novel with anticipation!

At last he sad it

Superb story, tangled as usual and very captivating. Was able to guess some things before the end this time.

Penetrating Brilliance

Hard to say which of Joanne Rowling’s books are my favourite. Suffice to say that this is definitely one of her best… her exploration of the lure of cults is real and so sensitively portrayed… it’s a book I couldn’t put down! The narration is brilliant too. Highly recommend i

Great story, would highly recommend

Really enjoyed and was fascinated by this story and felt a realistic picture was painted of cults, this was a great opportunity to understand that world more and why people do what they do when under this control. Some of this book is hard to read and if you are struggling in the middle skip a chapter as the book really shines in the last 5hours and such a great plot it’s worth the read!!!
