Meh

This story didn’t pull me in right away, something that I expect in this type book. After a few chapters I started over hoping it was just my frame of mind. Nope. The characters are not so interesting that you become invested in their lives or actions, and while the overall plot is okay, character development is slow. Or maybe they’re just not interesting people. I don’t know what the title has to do with the story at all.

Loved the Narration but Storyline was a bit muddle

I started this book with really high hopes and unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The story was about 3 woman who were suspects for the murder of a young man living in a house boat. The premise is great and the characters are well developed. I loved and related to Laura, who just can't catch a break. Mariam was interesting and I would've enjoyed learning more about her experiences but that would've been a whole different book. I didn't get the feeling as though I knew anything about Carla expect potential incest. Each of these characters were interesting but their stores got a little lost in shuffle I think. I love Hawkins' other work and won't give up on her based on this book but it just want my favorite. It was slow and packed intrigue and excitement. I couldn't figure out what the climax was but the end did tire up the loose ends. Overall 3 stars especially with Rosamund Pike's superb narration.

This book was definitely a slow burn to its conclusion, but the character and story development made it worth the wait! A very enjoyable listen and Rosamund Pike's narration was wonderful!

Hard to follow..

I normally like Paula Hawkins' books but this one was hard to follow. Maybe it was the performance.

Pike is awesome. Story was awesome. Not sure how someone could give this a bad review.
