Mixed
I like the first two books and most of the 3rd. The story was good and the progression as a smooth one even between all the killing of bunnies. lol.
The third book as where this changed. Half way through the book the author just took random jabs at critics of the books and went on rants. The last half of the third book just tossed out the premise of the book, granted I know this is due to the last two books being canceled and he wanted to end the series, but I think this could of been done better without attacking those that don't matter (trolls as in the negative posters).
My thoughts on the authors hate towards his thin skin in regards to critics happened after the book when he had his main character roast a critic. Funny yes but re-enforced the thin skin.

The Hot Fuzz for LitRPG Books
These books are like the Hot Fuzz for LitRPG books identifying many of the tropes and memes for LitRPG books and then being guilty of so so SO many of them.
The main protagonist is not an overachiever, he does not acclimate to his forced insertion in to a game like world and is guilty of excessive sarcasm and profanity. He wants out of the world and he is wiling to step all over the locals to accomplish that goal. If you expect this guy to become a hero of his little game world community and acclimate to the world then this LitRPG book is not for you. If you can appreciate the satire and tolerate the profanity then this three book combo is worth the credit as it is hilarious.

Author needs a thicker skin.
I liked the first book in this series but this series just turned into a way for the author to bash people who leave bad reviews. The ending is also a rushed here I finished from the author with no intent to finish the series well. Don't waste the credit.

Thank you Aaron Oster
To start this review I wanna say, this is worth your time. It is not going to be for everyone, it breaks a lot of the “rules” (haha) of traditional literature. But despite that it’s a good story. It’s funny and it kept me engaged the whole time. I strongly recommend adding it to your library. Mr Oster caught a lot of crap In the reviews and I want to address that. It is not for everyone but it was right up my alley, had I not been pointed to this book by another Litrpg author I may not have bought it based on a few trolls venting thier crap. I am glad that wasn’t the case. Thank you Aaron Oster for you time and sharing your genius with the lowly mortals.

The Rules
Oh my god. The first book just pissed me off with the rules I wanted to kill the Overlord myself what a fucking asshole. The next book was better as the plot thickens, but the last book was just great. Haven't laughed so hard so many Ha, Ha's at their expense And their animal companions the only one I did not like was the parrot. I would have killed it, plucked it and ate it. Nasty little fuck.!! I do not know what the hell was wrong with Sam, but I would have been all over his girlfriend's ass and other place's too. When they made it to the tower I aready knew that Sam would kill the Overlord he was aready so pissed off at the Overlord for all the shit he put him through and when he shown that he was like the parrot I really really knew he would kill the Overlord. Hell I would have done it myself. P.S: Dear Overlord BITE ME!!

Enjoyable and worth a listen
Overall, I enjoyed the listen and the different characters and the personality’s. I did chuckle multiple times at the responses from many as well as the different plots.
Only thing I didn’t enjoy was knowing that the author decided to end the story short by a couple of books. It would have been nice to hear the MCs full journey rather than it feeling like it had to end due to other people’s dislikes with the books. As I knew it was coming to a short end it did ruin the last book slightly for me because of this.
But will def give this a re listen in the future as I did enjoy it.
Thank you for all your hard work to both the author and narrator

Can’t believe
I can’t believe this book series hasn’t done well tbh the bad reviews on the individual books put me off despite loving this authors other work but I saw the box set and got it a gotta say I love it the characters and there interactions with each other the mad plot that makes fun of its self the protist get bullied and blessed by fate the world it’s self and the obvious way he let loose even more on the third with the four wall humor because of the trolls and not bridge type it is sad this won’t continue but understand that books that don’t do well arnt only unprofitable but damage his reputation as a amazing author
