RITA Award-winning author Kennedy Ryan delivers the gripping conclusion to the All the King's Men Duet . Ambition. Revenge. Love.

Raised to resist. Bred to fight. Survival is in my blood and surrender is never an option. Though surrender is what Maxim Cade demanded of my body and heart, I had other plans. We were fast-burning fascination and combustible chemistry, but the man I trusted with everything was a trickster. A thief who stole my love. If what we had was a lie, why did it feel so real? The man I swore to hate will have it all, and wants me at his side. But power is a game, and we're the pawns and players. Facing insurmountable odds, will we win the world, or will we lose it all?

This was by far one of the best books I have read and heard in quite a long time. I enjoyed every minute of both books and wish that there was a third.

Book 2, The Rebel King, really hit the mark for me in this duet, more so than book 1, which I have to say, I initially struggled with. Following on directly from The Kingmaker the action continues with lots of drama, as Maxim goes all out to save his girl. A gripping story, wonderful writing and two extremely strong characters make for an addictive storyline. At times I did get a little wound up with Lennix and her stubborn attitude, don’t get me wrong, I understood her reasoning, I just thought she took things a little too far at times, And I do wonder if worry and stress over what other people think is worth losing true happiness for. I felt she maybe was a little too strong willed for someone as alpha male as Maxim, but I truly do believe that love will conquer all, and if I know nothing else, I know Maxim loves her, and I was praying for their happy ever after. Basically I loved this book, and I loved both Maxim and Lennix. Narration, perfect, Jason Clarke especially.

What a rollercoaster ride this book was

I enjoyed this book more than the first; there was less repeat of Ms. Hunter's grievencese - stollen land, missing women, etc.

Good second book in The King Mker series

Wow!! I was not prepared for the ride I was taken on with this duet. Sometimes I’m so happy I didn’t know anything about what to expect and go in blind to a book and this was no exception. The first of the duet had my heart in knots and the second book in this series had me bawling like a baby quite a few times. I love when I book has the writing power to pull you in and take you over the coals, toss you around a few times and still leaves you wanting more. This book did all of that and then some. Jason Clarke was perfection and Jo Raylan was a new to me narrator who I will be looking to hear more from. Epically written by Kennedy Ryan (like there was ever a doubt) and beautifully performed.
