Publisher's Summary

The Foxes are a fractured mess, but their latest disaster might be the miracle they've always needed to come together as a team. The one person standing in their way is Andrew, and the only one who can break through his personal barriers is Neil.

Except Andrew doesn't give up anything for free, and Neil is terrible at trusting anyone but himself. The two don't have much time to come to terms with their situation before outside forces start tearing them apart. Riko is intent on destroying Neil's fragile new life, and the Foxes have just become collateral damage.

Neil's days are numbered, but he's learning the hard way to go down fighting for what he believes in, and Neil believes in Andrew even if Andrew won't believe in himself.

Heads up

i really enjoyed this story but i don't see any of the reviews give trigger warnings so I'll do the honors. Beware of graphic depictions of rape, abuse and torture.

Remarkably disturbing. Too many spoilers.

Again, a book I can't stop listening to. This has so many elements that make me cringe, still with the characters I don't like, ones I would back out of a room to avoid turning my back on. Still, I didn't want to stop listening to the story. Not even when the MC ended up tortured by more characters I strongly disliked. They were terrible. Oh, and then another character goes through SA, a character that was supposed to be very strong and impossible to sneak up on.

Why am I moving on to volume #3?

Good Story

A lot of ups and downs twist and turns but good Story. Great 2nd book cannot Waite to listen to the third. Was very sad story to find out what Andrew went through but answered a lot of questions. I love Neil and Andrew's thing they got. right now it's a little Love and a lot of Hate but we know better..

So many emotions

It should be mentioned that there are triggers in this book including rape and torture.
This was a "reread" for me. I wanted to listen to it for a change and honestly, I didn't hate it. . .but I also didn't love the performance. I love the book so much and I'll always love it, but the narrator is only okay. I can't really be mad about it because my biggest issues are the female voices, and that's not something simple. I'll be listening to The King's Men so that I can cry some more and maybe this time I'll be able to ignore the female voices lol

The Imaginary World of Survivors of Impossible Pain

This is the weirdest book in the series. Its violence is gratuitous and excessive. I still listened till the end - looking for an excuse. I did‘t find one.

Dark Sports Tale

I think this one was even better than book one. Finally you really got to know more about the characters rather than just the surface. It was heartbreaking and so intense at times that it was difficult to get through, but to me that is what makes a great book. I finally see why everyone is shipping Andrew and Neil, as I am as well at this point. I want so much for them all, but now especially for those two. I found some of the scenes very hard. While there was not one page rape, it was talked about, and that is devastating, but it was real and it made sense for the characters. I was happy to finally get some real answers on things. Another thing I love is how Neil's fuse is so short when it comes to Riko and while the ending really put things into perspective, it was really great to see Neil still being his true self. I also like the self-discovery that was going on with Neil. He is a great character. And Andrew is such an interesting character as well. Aaron finally got in on the character development as well, and Nicky is just a delight. Alexander Cendese did a great job on this narration. I immediately started in on book 3 and cannot wait to see how crazy it gets.

Better than the first

I found the second book of the trilogy much more interesting, intense and engaging than the first one, and although I still dislike the narration - this time it was mostly good, and bearable when not.

Should come with a fair warning: this book containes intense and graphic violence throughout, including sexual violence.

Excellent story. Excellent narration.

I couldn't stop thinking about this book. I adored the first one. This one is even better. I suspect that this is going to be the "Empire Strikes Back" of the series. You can't appreciate it without the other books, but this is insanely action packed and tension filled.

We start to get a better understanding of certain character's motivations, in particular, Andrew. Things go from bad to really bad, but no one is backing down. I am listening to the next book immediately!

I wish I skipped this book

There should be a trigger warning. I was not ready for the rape scene neither all the abuse. There was also still no romance. and the story still felt uneventful although so much happened.
And for some reason it was so so so repetitive. Especially in the first chapters. I haven't felt so silly since reading picture books. They re introduced all the characters constantly and it felt like this was a stand alone book instead the second part of a trilogy. Like If the first book did not matter at all.
In my opinion this book should not exist. This whole trilogy could be just a single book. It feels so episodic and so much like a sick fanfiction.
I finished within a day.
Up until the rape scene the book was fine. After that it because too overwhelming. I wish I'd never read it. I'm so sure that the next one will recup everything that happened in the previous ones anyway. like the writer does not trust their readers to remember.
I feel sick to my stomach.
Do not read this unless you are over 18.
Too much drama for no reason. So sick.
The performance and writing somewhat improved though. But it was unforgivably repetitive.

great series

I read the All For The Game series first before I one clicked all the audible versions to listen to as well. I've really enjoyed listening to this narrator in some of his other work, which is mainly why I ended up one-clicking this series to listen to as well. He does a great job with the story, I really enjoyed listening to him across books 1 & 2. However - some of the voices for all the different characters did start to sound really similar, confusing me a few times as to which character I was listening to in that particular moment. Other than that I loved it.

Amazing story, ok voice

As a great fan of this series, I was so excited to see the first two on audible! The story always hits me right in the gut- it’s raw and powerful, dark and driving. It tells stories that people would often rather not hear.
In terms of the voice actor, he has a beautifully crisp voice, however a lot of the characters sound the same. I found it very difficult to differentiate between them, even though I know the words from reading them on the page. He also voiced them like surfer dudes, which feels off but perhaps that’s an agreed upon style? So that critique is more a personal preference.
Overall, I listened to these books in long sittings, and kept coming back regardless of the narrator. I’m excited for the final one!
