The best thing about this audiobook was Khristine Hvam’s narration. She is incredibly talented and made me like this series more than I might have otherwise.

The storyline was interesting but SBD’s prose got a little overly effusive and boring at times. I got seriously tired of Naelin angsting about her kids and Daleina’s constant worrying about her country. Characters like Merecot and Hammond’s mom (I forget her name) and Hannah were what kept me interested. They uttered some pretty funny zingers.

As for the plot, the ending was rather disappointing. There were so many directions SBD could’ve gone and things she could explored that I was unsatisfied. I felt like she focused sometimes on the wrong things.

Overall, I liked it, I loved the narrator, but I wouldn’t read again.

Good story but STELLAR narration
