just enough

The book wasn't groundbreaking but it managed to do what I could not. it helped me get back to sleep. I did notice once or twice throughout the book either the word being said or I sound in my room, woke me up but I was able to easily fall back asleep to this.

Perfect for me

This this is one of my favorites in the audible bedtime stories. Her narration works like a charm for me.

I’ve never gotten through the whole story

It puts me to sleep every time which is the goal and Carrie Mulligans voice is so soothing. I hope she will read more bedtime stories.

This Reminds Me Of The Adoption Of My New Dog

This story reminds me of the day I adopted my new dog Lidiya on Easter Eve 2021! I lost my other rat terrier at age 15 from health problems, and another rat terrier came into my life in Spring 2021 in late March to her adoption on April 3rd (Easter Eve)!

The Puppy Adoption

Slowly paced, relaxing tale about a family’s journey to adopt a puppy. I’m sure I could have easily drifted off to sleep had I listened to this enchanting story closer to my bedtime. The narrator has a pleasantly soothing voice as she relates the experience of adopting a new pup into this family. It’s the type of family everyone who has been adopted by an animal would wish for any pet to be placed. As an animal lover & adoptee of a pup, I did enjoy this sweet tale.

It works!

I fell asleep right after the ending,,a soothing sweet experience. It made me ready to relax and sleep.

Excellent Story, Poor Narration

The monotone narration almost made me stop listening to this one . . . but I'm glad that I stuck it out. The story is one of the best. I hope that Audible will consider a "do over" with a different narrator, because I doubt that I'm the only one that thinks the narrator ruins the production. What is needed is a soothing, loving, WARM voice that wraps the feeling of family and closeness around you. The story of Peanut and his adoption from one family who loved him into another who so longed for a puppy is wonderful. The descriptions of the mother's search on line for the exact breed that would fit in, the family's trip to the pet store to shop for Peanut, and lastly the changes in their lives when Peanut joins their household are told in a way that warms the heart. If it weren't for the crazy narration, I would listen again and again.

Relaxing

Sweet story for falling asleep. The reader has a calm, relaxing voice and the story has descriptive details that puts me in a happy place for sleep.
