Audible's Bedtime Stories are designed to let you drift off with no nagging feeling that you need to listen through to the end. Their purpose is to let you slowly fall into peaceful, restful sleep.

Spend a peaceful morning in a flower shop, where sunlight warms the petals and the air is sweet with blooms. As the florist trims stems, arranges bouquets, and ties ribbon with quiet care, they reflect on the gentle language of flowers and the joy of brightening someone’s day.

This is a lovely little story that follows a small town florist as he goes about his day. The descriptions of the shop, the various flowers, & the customers are soothing. The woman telling the story has a nice voice. I wish that the common names of the flowers were given, since I don’t recognize the scientific names. Enjoyable, & I will listen again.

A pleasant day in the life of a florist

I’ve listened to a lot of bedtime stories and this is among one of the best for me. I enjoy arranging flowers and am a biologist so I found the scientific names of the flowers interesting. I appreciated the imagery of a master florist and his thought process while he went through his day. To top that, I could imagine the bouquets once he was done. The narrator was soothing and serves to put me to sleep every time. Great price-included free in my membership!

simply beautifully written. it is as if it were scrawled with sepia Indian ink across rice paper, while watching an autumnal cityscape through elder panes of thinning glass, while the light wanes.

elegant

The only positive thing about this is that it is soothing, but the whole thing feels rather pointless. It’s just listening to over the top descriptions of flower arrangements. I get that it’s meant to relax you to sleep, but it feels like it’s trying to bore me to sleep. What is the point of a story without there being a story? For me this just isn’t it. Maybe it’s fine for others

Lots of purple prose, but where is the story?
