Instead of being merely the receiver of the parents' psychological and spiritual legacy, children function as ushers of the parents' development. Parents unwittingly pass on an inheritance of psychological pain and emotional shallowness. To handle the behavior that results, traditional books on parenting abound with clever techniques for control and quick fixes for dysfunction. In Dr. Shefali Tsabary's conscious approach to parenting, however, children serve as mirrors of their parents' forgotten self.

In this audiobook, Richo offers a fresh perspective on love and relationships - one that focuses not on finding an ideal mate, but on becoming a more loving and realistic person. Drawing on the Buddhist concept of mindfulness, How to Be an Adult in Relationships explores five hallmarks of mindful loving and how they play a key role in our relationships throughout life.

Despite being relatively unheard of, endometriosis affects an estimated one in 10 women worldwide. That's roughly 190 million people, and due to misdiagnosis, there's likely many more who are suffering without treatment. Getting a diagnosis of endometriosis can feel like a blessing and a curse. Knowing that you're not going crazy or blowing things out of proportion can be a huge relief. However, a diagnosis can also lead to feelings of isolation and discouragement - especially when you’re faced with treatment options that seem extreme. But don't despair - you aren't alone.

Publisher's Summary
Do you love exercising, but are limited by a bladder that leaks? Do you know where every restroom is on your daily commute? Are you avoiding sex due to pain or just bearing through it, wondering where all the fun went? Have you been told that you have vulvodynia, vestibulitis, pudendal neuralgia, or a "tight pelvic floor" and are just wondering what's really going on?
Millions of women struggle needlessly with pelvic floor dysfunction, causing bladder urgency, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain that interferes with sexual function and other daily activities. The topic of women’s pelvic health still suffers from taboo and stigma, making good information and real solutions hard to come by.
Drawing on years of experience as a pelvic health physical therapy specialist, Debbie Cohen now lifts the veil of mystery and confusion surrounding these common ailments. Showing that these conditions are more than a nuisance and should not be ignored, Debbie connects women with the answers they need to get back to living the life they love, and maintain vibrant pelvic health well into their later years.
Listen to find out:
- How to know whether or not you have pelvic floor dysfunction
- Why doing more Kegels may not be the answer - and could be making matters worse
- What are the common bladder habits of women who struggle with bladder control, and what to do, instead
- How and when to start rehabilitating your pelvic floor and abdomen safely after giving birth
- How to resolve sexual pain by treating the cause of the problem instead of numbing it or forcing through pain
- How to treat your pelvic pain by looking beyond the pelvis
- Why movement may be the key to getting your life back - even if you hurt too much to exercise
- Why your health practitioners have not yet recommended pelvic rehabilitation for you
- How to find and work with the best pelvic health specialist for you
- What are you or your loved one missing out on most because of pelvic health concerns

Very informative
There is a lot of information in this listen, most of which I doubt most people would be aware of otherwise. The pelvic floor is a murky unknown, at least it was to me, but now I know how many conditions it can influence. I also like the author's reading, her voice is soothing and clear, and she obviously wants to educate listeners. After listening to this, i would feel much more comfortable and less embarrassed approaching a professional to address pelvic issues.

No Exercises
This book was disappointing. Although it had some good info on disorders driven by pelvic floor health, I was expecting some specific recommendations on exercises and behaviors to help. Instead she just tries to sell you on seeing a pelvic floor PT.

We’ve been sold a lie: The world tells us that pain is inevitable, that our bodies must break down as we age, and that there’s nothing we can do about it. Here’s the shocking truth: The vast majority of the pain that plagues our aging bodies is self-inflicted. It’s caused by the way we use our bodies every day - the way we sit, the way we stand, the way we walk and run. But with simple exercises, anybody can learn to heal their chronic musculoskeletal pain, and prevent future pain, injury, and joint problems from developing.

Story

Here’s the shocking truth: The vast majority of the pain that plagues our aging bodies is self-inflicted. It’s caused by the way we use our bodies every day - the way we sit, the way we stand, the way we walk and run. But with simple exercises, anybody can learn to heal their chronic musculoskeletal pain, and prevent future pain, injury, and joint problems from developing.
