Story and narration top notch!

The Overtime Kiss is the latest stand alone romance in The Love and Hockey series by Lauren Blakely. Tyler Falcon is a single dad to two adorable littles whose nanny has unexpectedly decided to move to be closer to her family. The team’s nickname for Tyler is hilarious and perfect, Daddy Falcon! Hilarious!! Sabrina is such a beautifully sweet, but slightly hurt soul who finds herself as a runaway bride and heads right into Tyler’s orbit! The instant attraction between Tyler and Sabrina is so palpable. The journey to love that these two take, is both beautiful and heartfelt. Will Tyler learn just how much he loves his children and hockey that he can have both a personal and professional life? Will Sabrina learn how to believe in herself and to trust her choices and finally stand up to her parents? I love the entire series but I am quite fond of both Tyler and Miles’(Tyler’s brother/The Girlfriend Zone) how they so easily bring new found significant others into their fold while showering them with so much needed love and acceptance. The Overtime Kiss by Lauren Blakely has so many feelings in this single-dad, nanny, and found family love story that I just couldn’t put it down til the end. The audiobook is narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Brooke Bloomingdale in duet narration. I love duet narration. Teddy Hamilton is a seasoned performer to my ears and as always he does not disappoint as Tyler Falcon. This is the first time I have listened to Brooke Bloomingdale and totally enjoyed her performance as Sabrina Snow. Both narrators bring Tyler and Sabrina to life providing a fun escape for a few hours. *****

I love everything about this story!

The romance between Tyler and Sabrina in The Overtime Kiss by Lauren Blakely is characterized by a blend of emotional vulnerability, undeniable chemistry, and the complexities that arise from their evolving relationship and personal circumstances.

Sabrina is introduced at a vulnerable moment—she has just left her fiancé at the altar after discovering his infidelity. Sabrina is also Luna’s skating coach, which means there is already a connection between them, though Tyler has harbored feelings for Sabrina for some time. Despite his attraction, Tyler has always respected her engagement and never acted on his feelings.

Their initial interaction is marked by Tyler’s gentlemanly behavior: he offers her his hotel room for the night and provides clothes for her the next morning, demonstrating both kindness and restraint. This sets the tone for their relationship—rooted in mutual respect and consideration for each other’s emotional states.

Their dynamic becomes more complicated when circumstances bring them into even closer proximity. Tyler’s nanny leaves, and Sabrina, needing a job, is hired as the new nanny by Tyler’s mother. Despite these hesitations, Tyler and Sabrina eventually give in to their feelings, agreeing to a relationship with an “expiration date.” This arrangement allows them to explore their connection while acknowledging the potential risks they both want to avoid. The developing intimacy between them, not just physically but emotionally, is both exhilarating and scary as Sabrina becomes more involved in Tyler’s family life and his relationship with his children. The adorable personalities of Parker and Luna add warmth and depth to the romance, making Sabrina’s growing affection for the entire family an integral part of the narrative.

I always enjoy the “getting to know each other better” parts of a love story. This was a beautiful, funny, swoony story was so well-written, and I loved every minute of it. The characters were great, and the narration by Brooke Bloomingdale and Teddy Hamilton was flawless.

I am all in with this fun and spicy hockey romance! Tyler is a professional hockey play, doing his best to manage raising his kids and playing the game. When Sabrina leaves her fiance at the alter, gets drunk and spills all her secrets to Tyler, he would love to give her the experiences she desires. But he has a more honor than that, and the two go about their lives. That is until his mother hires the retired figure skater as the new nanny. And the emotions are off and running! I loved how Tyler took an interest in Sabrina's love of teaching people to skate and that he gives her the balance of being the nanny and having her career. I love Sabrina's way with the kids. She has a feel for finding how to connect despite any obstacle. And the push pull between these two, the secret rendezvous, the passion and the true feelings are all incredible. This is a fun listen, one that pulled me in and it flew by. The sign of a truly good story!

Brooke Bloomingdale and Teddy Hamilton are so good together. Bloomingdale holds Sabrina's emotions, and lets them fly at all the right times. She has the fun and playful voice and even the mom voice when needed. Hamilton has that warm, easy feel, but deals with a lot of feelings flowing out of Tyler. Loved these two and their performance.

Slow burn love story

Loved this story and the characters! The voice performances were perfection. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Fantastic narration for a fun book

It's been a while since I have read a Lauren Blakely book, and I don't know why I waited. She is one of my go-to authors for spicy rom-coms that always have cute pets!

Tyler and Sabrina start as acquaintances, even though he's been pining over her for a while. After she leaves her cheating ex at the altar, she runs into him in a bar. She also coaches his daughter in figure skating, so there are all kinds of crisscross ways they have to battle. And then she becomes the nanny. Of course, all the tropes are there, and there is the dreaded third-act break-up, but it all comes together finally.

My only complaint about this one is that it could have been a bit shorter, but I still enjoyed it.

And the narration was perfection.
