Andrew Jukes
Andrew Jukes (1815-1901) was an English theologian and deacon of St. John's Church, Hull. The Names of God in Holy Scripture (1888) examines the Old and New Testaments to find and interpret the names of the Lord. Jukes first discusses the Hebrew names and appellations as they were known by the patriarchs and by the prophets of ancient Israel: “Adonai”, “Elohim”, “El Shaddai”, and the Tetragrammaton. Quoting from St. Augustine, he argues that the “perfect” name is declared by Jesus Christ in the New Testament as “the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”.

Pastor Jukes does well, using only the Authorized Version, here in America, we call it the King James. You are going to want a hard copy.
It is long, and deeply nuanced, which might have attributed to my difficulties by reading alone. The narrator is good, but his pronunciation bears peculiarities. It’s not distracting, but it does keep my attention.
You won’t finish this all if you listen in multiple sessions. Instead, spend God’s time to learn about him. Because I speak only American, a strange dialect of English, I don’t understand Eastern thought patterns. Hebrew is very much a concept communication. Whereas we have a language which can be very precise, Hebrew is not. Hebrew is a language which expresses thoughts. Greek is strictly precise. For those reasons, any translation is fraught with dangerous errors. For that reason, I fail to understand, because I don’t think the way a Jew does.
This book is worth it just because of all I learned. It’s value is increased with narration.
Worth the price and God’s time
