The format is a bit different but once into it, I found it a pleasant break.

Narration, plot, historical flavor. Although fiction, it is believable. Characters are interesting for the most part.

I always enjoy books set during WWWiI.

Performance makes for good listening. The story is fun if a bit of a historical stretch. No real surprises but bravery if Evie kept me listening. Also good to see all characters active in the story. Bonzo is always good addition.

Great series

Enjoyed this series, the character building and how each book laid a foundation for the next.

Loved the whole series!

Excellent narration, with feeling empathy and recognizable character voices. The stories themselves are set in the turbulent years of 1941 in wartime England. Historically accurate insights into daily life in a small village are seamlessly woven into a series of mysteries (not all murders) that span across the series. A main mystery is solved per book and the FMC quickly forms a little band of sleuthing friends, each with their own specialties. With all their help, they uncover murderers, spies, and a couple other interesting side stories. This is a true cozy mystery series!

The development of characters, and some historical facts.

Lovable characters, and unbridled courage. Evie is always coming up with surprising information. Looking forward to see how Nigel and Evie's relationship develops. Go Nigel! Harry has such a teddy bears personality until someone gets his back up and he bares his teeth. I really like the historical notes at the end. Dorothy and Tom, Blake and Katherine, and Alice complete the pack for some good old fashioned sleuthing! I am looking forward to the next book. Harry and Alice? What's the next step for them?

Truly wonderful & entertaining.

This series leaves me reflecting in profound gratitude. Wonderfully written and intriguing, these stories bring all of human nature to bear. Oddly, I'm left feeling hopeful.

Excellent series

I love a good cozy mystery and this one doesn't disappoint. Against the backdrop of WWII the number of murderers and mystery are perfectly placed. Excellent writing and narration.

Bonzo is back!

Expertly woven story with current characters, characters from the past, and new characters interacting in a fast-paced can't stop listening book! Well written and just a lot of fun. I hope this series never ends. As with former listens I increased the speed to 1.20 and it sounds much better, not so slow motion and draggy. That is not to imply that the narrator does a poor job because she does a very good job. I've listened to everything that Elliot and Veley have written and never been disappointed.

Diverse interesting plots

I have listened to each book in this series. I enjoyed the character development, the quality of writing, and the storyline; this book a bit more than the others. While I wouldn’t normally listen to this many books consecutively, this series held my interest.

I loves all five books.

The characters were well developed and the story had twists and turns to make it interesting from the first page to the last. The outstanding narrator made the story come to life. I like how the author wove the story into the period of history. They also clarified what was really happening in history at the period the story was set
