Publisher's Summary

My mother's New Year's resolution for me was simple: make a serious effort at putting myself out there and dating again and do it for one full year.

Or, until I fell in love. Whichever came first.

How hard could one year of swipes and matches and awkward first dates be?

In a word: bad.

In nine words: bad and also hilarious, demoralizing, exhausting, and ridiculously amusing.

But the only thing worse than dating in the era of hookup apps and unsolicited dick pics is the absolute whole-life flail of falling in love.

Sexy Smut & funny journey of self discovery

We first met Magnolia in the Walsh series and she had quite a messy dating history. This is her journey of self discovery and it is a hoot. It’s not all laugh out loud funny but her snarkiness and sharp observation made every chapter so vivid and fun. Amy embodied Gigi’s inner snarkiness with such gusto I want to cheer her on so hard!

Bravo to Kate for writing such an honest and snarky look at online dating and it’s pitfalls. I love her journey of self discovery and how she learn to love herself first and not apologize for it like before.

Almost didn’t finish it

I have loved KC s books. Read all the Walsh stories and Ash’s story but this story had no passion. The characters were developed well but hated the triangle. Didn’t consider a romance at all.

So disappointed. I usually listen to all my audiobooks over and over but barely got through this one time.

Main character too self absorbed

The story was ok and the performance was really good, but Magnolia was annoying. Her reactions were outsized and she kept congratulating herself on realizing she deserved better than what she had. I know it’s all about empowerment, but she was obnoxious.

No where near as good as Boss between the sheets

If I read this one first, I never would have read another of her books.

Such an interesting story

As a woman that had dated online I really enjoyed this story because I understood Magnolia’s plight. I loved that she was mature and had made some mistakes. She also wasn’t a toothpick, which annoyed me about the cover 😡. Anyway , the author and narrators were all new to me. Kate Canterbary and Amy McFadden did a really great job. Tor Thom literally narrated the LAST chapter! He was the reason why I chose this book so imagine my surprise and disappointment that he was more of a special guest than a featured narrator. I still will recommend it highly.

I loved this one so much

Oh my goodness my heart is full.

I loved this book so much.

Yes, this is a story of a 30 something trying to find love using a dating app.
But there are so many layers to this story. As much as it was a story of Magnolia finding her HEA with a man it was also a story of Magnolia falling in love with herself.

This book is funny.

There are plenty of shenannies.

If you've read the Walsh Family Series you get to connect with some familiar faces but it's not necessary to have read them.

This story stands on it it's own. Magnolia stands on her own.

Kate always writes complex relatable characters. To the hard to love women and the grumpy men that pursue them. I love the universe Kate has created.

Outstanding in every way!!!

The premise of this story is so simple and it could have become just another RomCom, but let me tell you, this is way beyond that. The characters are so well written!! Kate Canterbary is such a genius at bringing to life characters with so much depth, personality and realism. The journey Magnolia goes through is so relatable but the pace and the writing make this story feel very special. You are going through this journey with her, instead of just being an observer. The banter is classic Kate!! I couldn't get enough of the smart & sassy snark. Also including the beloved characters of the Walsh Series was such a bonus. The narration was the cherry on top of this outstanding story. Amy McFadden is perfection! She has the best pace, tone and brings to life a character that is going through so much and you just want to keep listening. This casting choice was right on the money. I want more stories like these in my life. Well worth the credit and the ride.

Sensational

A great story about a woman who empowers herself to take charge of her relationships. A lot of really good internal conversations from Magnolia. She definitely has that “every woman” vibe.

Great job by Amy McFadden and Tor Thom.

I loved this book!

I had already listen to (and loved) the other 2 books in this series and I was always curious about Magnolia. I’m so glad I went back and listened to her story, it was delightful and witty.

It was good

This is my 2nd book by Kate Canterbary, and I liked it. It was ok, but honestly after “In a Jam” the bar was a little high. As a person who loves a good Boston accent, I understand why it wasn’t used, but also think it took something away from the story. All in all, it was pretty good, and worth a credit.

Full of hilarious dating app convos!

This series is about the Santillon triplets, Magnolia, Ash and Linden. Poor Magnolia agrees to her mum’s plea that she begin to put some real effort into dating. Her mum signs her up to a dating app and goes mad swiping right all over the place.

This book is full of hilarious dating app convos. So freaking funny! BUT she actually meets Rob through it and after some super funny chats they meet and go on a series of dates that lead to more. I’m not going to spoil things by giving you a full plot rundown but believe me it’s good.

Ah Amy McFadden, I had forgotten how much I loved listening to you read stories to me! Amy has perfect timing, can be funny, emotional as well as offering a range of voices. Her performance is stellar! She reads the majority of the book with Tim Paige coming in at the end to give us Rob’s POV and he does a great job too!

An audiobook that will have you laughing out loud but also cheering Rob on, hoping that Magnolia chooses well. Kate has delivered another amazing book, series, world!!! Honestly Kate writes heartfelt, funny stories with a shed load of steam.

Love the whole crazy, OTT family

This was quite an enjoyable audio to listen to. From reading some of this author's other books, I was familiar with a lot of the secondary characters in The Magnolia Chronicles, and I knew I already loved Magnolia's OTT crazy family, especially her interfering and very loving Mum.

Haha, poor Magnolia! She had to put up with some very strong encouragement from her Mum to find herself a man. I actually did LOL at some of those online dating interactions as they were performed by the narrators.

I found this entertaining and pretty low on drama, probably because I already knew the outcome (from previously reading Boss in the Bedsheets when it was released, main character Ash is Magnolia's brother), which meant I just enjoyed finding out how Magnolia ended up with her perfect person.

Narration - listed as having 2 narrators, but the male narrator only does the epilogue. Still a great audio though.

Magnolia finds #LOVE

Not sure how I missed this when it was first released but I will say it was a pleasant surprise when I stumbled upon it.
Always want to read Magnolia’s story ever since I discovered her in the Walsh family series, she is absolutely lovely.
Fantastic read, and we got to meet to handsome and funny men 😂 I think you will all love them both.
Narrators did a wonderful job, Amy Mcfadden is one of my favourite rom-com narrators.
If you want your hilarious lines to come to life this lady is one of the best.
