The second installment of this adventurous fantasy sees Lillith reaching daring new heights—and some dangerous lows.

Lillith has always possessed the ability to feel the grief of the people around her. But now she can harness it and put it to use as well. That said, her recent exploits have labeled her a monster and a villain, specifically "the Mage of Mourning." This title is a nod to both the carnage she leaves in her wake and the tools she implements in the process. But Lillith doesn't need a good reputation. She doesn't even need this life. And she certainly doesn't need to keep her hands free of blood.

Now, despite having helped as many people as possible in Satusmor, giving the common folk there access to basic necessities, Lillith's job is far from done. She's determined to wreak a little havoc in the city of Visenar, but unfortunately, havoc has a lot in store for her. She'll need the help of an intriguing woman named Sarafyna, who has her own powers and complex history—and who intrigues Lillith in more ways than one . . .

Things get more complicated every day, what with new friends and foes, the unseen Collector, and the mysterious, sacred Radiant Woods. But abolishing slavery, encouraging the widespread use of mana, and ending the monarchy isn't going to happen overnight.

Featuring a brash, brainy heroine who wields magic, kicks ass, and still makes time for romance, the Otherworldly Anarchist series is perfect for fans of female-centric progression fantasy.

The second volume of the hit isekai adventure series—with almost a million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Funny references through the book I caught them you have forgotten the face of your father made me chuckle I was reading the dark tower last week lol

I like the little references here and there

I really liked the premise and little twists along the way. though it was pretty obvious throughout that the author is new to full stories and pros, overall it was enjoyable.

the narrator did a great job with every female character...except the MC. mostly, she played it well but couldn't seem to stop the vitriol from coming out even when the character was describing or talking about something/somewhere/someone that she liked. even describing how happy she was in her new little town, she sounded disgusted lol
the male voices were pretty awful in general though that might have been intentional because of how hated and gross men are in the book. it seems more likely that she narrator used a pretty deep voice for the Fem MC and couldn't go any lower for the dudes.

satisfying

it's a good story it just has a main character who functions off of impossibilities and idealism. that itself isn't bad but it's clear that the story wouldn't work without the writer making her characters dreams come true. if you want a true Revenge tail then this is it but it's purely fantasy. either way I enjoyed it but I don't think I'll listen to the third book at least not right away.

Great, but....

near the end of the book one of the people corrects the mc and tells them "you are not a god and you cannot be the most important person in every situation. this other person. needs to work out their own issues without you"

this to me is awesome because so many books like this have the mc basically becomes the first stop for everything and anything that happens for some odd reason.

overall I love this series. it's dark, interesting, fun, sad and the world is fun to explore with the mc.

there is no cliffhanger at the end and the author could easily wrap the story up right now if they wanted onto and I wouldn't complain too much. I do hope they write many more books though because I want to see this world with the characters in the book and hear their reactions to it all.

fantastic book and ending

Overall it was a good book but it felt like a downgrade from the first. If you read the first you'll know the first book ended with a lead up to a magic academy arc. Unfortunately seems the author didn't want to spend to much time on this story arc so majority of it ended up being passed over via a 3 year time skip. I won't spoil but the following story arc afterwards seemed a little rushed as well.

Big Time Skip Warning. Last half of the book felt rushed.

Too often I encounter power fantasies where the protagonist eats up a majority of the world's grey matter. This story has real and cunning villains, and even morally grey antagonists. It is the mark of a truly skilled writer who can pull off a world setting like this. The nuggets of revelations are not revealed all at once but instead trickled out tantalizingly, the protagonist's schemes aren't revealed until the big climaxes, and the stakes never stop feeling real. I am gripped all throughout the story and I feel satisfied with how it all unfurls.

Incredibly brilliant characterizations and story pacing

Great book loved the story and narrator. pears are delicious and you should stop the crusade against such a heavenly fruit.

5 stars minus 1 for pear hate

I loved this second book. The writing flows and I understand the point of view of the main character. She's not overbearing, but she is strong and will fight for what's right.

Pure fun

The narrator really carries the story onward with her ability for different characters and her pacing.

The story is generally good but I have to say it starts to get old fast when every min or two there is some mention about fighting the system and the just overall hating everything about the world. We get the main character hates the male / female hiarchy and the whole rich and poor. But does it really need to be brought up what seems like every 2 mins or so. There's hate on everything just to be hating. To me it really takes away from the overall story that is actually fairly good.

Maybe in future books it can be toned down / address some because at this pace it's really going to be hard to stick with the series. I get hating the system and stick it to the man but what a sad life if that's the main characters whole outlook on life. It makes for an extremely one sided character overall with nothing interesting about her.

Great Narrator and generally good story

Prime example, the MC goes on about how its creepy and disgusting when a man looks at a womans chest, yet in the same chapter she literally leers at her magic teachers chest. Outright staring at it in lust, yet feels no hint of shame for doing what she judged other for.

Then she goes on about authority and how all authority is bad and use violence to force people to obey....YET she literally makes rules too, no murdering people, no assaulting them, no using magic to take advantage of others....and how does she enforce it? WITH VIOLENCE... shes literally being the new authority and stating what is and isnt allowed. Her own laws.

Honestly it's stupid it's like if a small village had no leader. Then two farmers argue about property or who's sheep is who's. Without a leader to decide their only outcome if they dont agree is violence. Does she what a world of no leaders where two people who dont agree can only turn to violence?

Really a world with all peole knowing magic would just see the old nobles replaced with new ones or people in power. The most talented or richest mages would rise to the top.
No way will a world work where someone who barely trys cab be equal to someone who puts in tons of effort because then no one will want to work harder then anyone else. There would be no point to effort or inovation.

Really I hope that the character grow past this juvinelle college protest the world without solutions phase. Its stupid and mocks actual activist who want to change the world and think of actual working solutions. She sounds more like a trust fund rich kid who has daddy issues so screams about the rich without any real thoughts beyond attention.

Total lack of self awareness
