Publisher's summary

"If you loved Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere, allow me to introduce you to your next obsession. —Kim Liggett, New York Times bestselling author of The Grace Year

A tangled web of lies draws together three women in this explosive thriller of revenge, murder and shocking secrets

At an elite private school nestled in the Colorado mountains, Natalie, an office assistant, dreams of having a life like the school moms she deals with every day. Women like Brooke—a gorgeous heiress, ferociously loving mother and serial cheater—and Asha, an overprotective mom who suspects her husband of having an affair. Their fates are bound by the handsome assistant athletic director Nicholas, whom Natalie loves, Brooke wants and Asha needs.

But when two bodies are carried out of the school one morning, it seems the tension between mothers and daughters, rival lovers, and the haves and have-nots has shattered the surface of this isolated, affluent town—where people stop at nothing to get what they want.

Don't miss Annie Ward's other twisty and utterly original thriller, Beautiful Bad!

High School Drama

This book has all the angst, jealousy, presumed love and color as high school, here an affluent group. The Characterization of students, teachers and parents is rich with detail. Relationships between the above parties is intense giving Ms Ward's suspenseful novel a complex twist on womens sports.

Great read, I suggest her other books!

Overall really good story. Narrator was great!

I enjoyed this book. There were a few times where I thought that a character’s action were unrealistic. But, overall it kept my interest and I am glad to have listened to the book.

Would listen again!

The narrator is excellent. Great voice and characterizations. Good plotting, stayed up too late listening.

entertaining enough

The audio performance was great. The story was cut and pasted from the headlines and shows like Big Little Lies. Nevertheless, it was entertaining enough to listen to while at work.

Mehhh...

Started off super engaging and I was hooked. After finishing it, I'm kind of confused. Fell off towards the end but really enjoyed the narration. If I could go back I would've saved the credit for something else.

Entertaining

I hate to say I like this book because the story is just so wrong. Where's the morality? It's not a feel-good book, as a matter of fact, it made me feel bad - but - still, it was a good book. I was drawn to listen to the very end.

Smart

It’s a bit Desperate Housewives, a bit Varsity Blues, a bit One Tree Hill, and a bit scandalous. There is so much privilege wrapped up in this thing. Enjoyed the read.

I Liked It

Unlike many interesting reads, I didn't anticipate the direction and the unanticipated was believable. Plus, as a mother of teens, it gave me pause and food for thought.

Entertaining

Entertaining. The story came together at the end and was fun to try to speculate on where things were going throughout the chapters.
I liked the characters- they were flawed but endearing.
Not the best, not the worst… 3.75 out of 5, if I were to use my own rating measures.
