Waste of time for me, nothing helpful

I got this book because of a recommendation. Unfortunately, I cannot pass along the recommendation and here's why:

1. This book doesn't explain how to do anything. It kind of tells you what to do (e.g. negotiate 20% per year with total return of capital at the end of a year and get some equity thrown in there as well). But that kind of stuff is kind of a no-brainer if we knew how to do it. I want to know how to do those things, not just that I should. I could get past the rest if there was actually some helpful how-tos in here.

2. Between each chapter, someone is interviewing Justin. That's fine except that the interviewer just seems somewhere between awed and full-out worshipping Justin for his sage knowledge that he's not actually passing on. It is super annoying.

3. This whole book feels like a shameless plug for his "Lions" network that cost 50k per year to be a part of. He won't tell you how he does anything, but he is happy to say over and over how his network gets exclusive access to all the stuff he's talking about.

So the moral of the story is this: if you don't have 50k per year to give Justin to be in his special club, don't bother with this book. If you do have 50k per year to give Justin, you probably are doing well enough that you don't really need him or his club. Either way, probably steer clear of this one.

But, to be fair, I didn't listen to the whole thing. I still had about 1.5 hours left. I just couldn't finish it. I would rather invest my time listening to something helpful.

Mostly A Big Advertisement

there were some good nuggets here and there but mostly fluff. he pushes his coaching classes throughout and is looking for investors. I'm glad I only paid 99 cents. I found out later you can get it for free

Great book, the sooner you read it, the better.

I have some experience in living this lifestyle.
To have read this book years ago could have benefited me a great deal.

Just the same, no matter where you’re at in life, whether you’re a seasoned investor or investing is something that seems out of reach for you today, go ahead and start reading this book now.

Enlightening and a joy to listen to.

This book is a joy to listen to, it teaches you so many concepts that I wish school would’ve taught me. There are so many east to follow examples that apply to the real world. I will continue on my education to become a lifelong lifestyle investor.

Missed Opportunity

The book does a good job of giving examples of negotiation tactics but does nothing to tell the listener of where to find these magical deals or HOW to negotiate. I found it mostly missed the mark on possibly being a great book. Would not recommend

Nothing new basically advertised his course mentoring

This is a 5 hour advertisement of his course and his mentoring program I felt cheated halfway through the book then I regretted listening to the rest of it.

A Kiyosaki student who adds value

The author Justin Donald expands on Kiyosakis principles of investing with his criteria he calls The Ten Commandments.

Read by the author with great energy in an interview setting.

One of my favorites!

One long sales pitch

Really disappointed. I came in this with an open mind, like I do with everything. Unfortunately it’s part of the new trend of business books to be one long extended sales pitch for the author’s products and services. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, if what you provide in the book is as advertised, but the problem in this case is that it is sold to novices as a golden ticket to a life of freedom, but what is taught is complex deal structuring of the type that is only via available to sophisticated investors with backdoors into off-book deals. Conveniently, one such ticket is by joining the author’s mastermind group. Frustrating.

Inspired

Packed full of great info, and really highlights the need for financial education as your government and banking system certainly don't want you to know how money works, or can work. highly recommend the podcast also. Hope to meet Justin some day!
