Publisher's summary
In the bitter winter of 2009, following the death of their grandmother, Erica Calcott and her sister Beth return to Storton Manor, a grand and imposing Wiltshire house where they spent their summer holidays as children.
When Erica begins to sort through her grandmother's belongings, she is flooded with memories of her childhood - and of her cousin, Henry, whose disappearance from the manor tore the family apart. Erica sets out to discover what happened to Henry - so that the past can be laid to rest, and her sister, Beth, might finally find some peace.
Gradually, as Erica begins to sift through remnants of the past, a secret family history emerges; one that stretches all the way back to turn-of-the-century Oklahoma, to a beautiful society heiress and a haunting, savage land. As past and present converge, Erica and Beth must come to terms with two terrible acts of betrayal - and the heart-breaking legacy left behind.
The Legacy is an unforgettable, deeply satisfying story that will stay with you long after the last page has been turned.

Thought-provoking story and a bit melancholy...
Would you consider the audio edition of The Legacy to be better than the print version?
I did not read the print version so I cannot compare print vs. audio.
If you’ve listened to books by Katherine Webb before, how does this one compare?
Nor had I listened to any of Katherine Webb's books before
Have you listened to any of Clare Wille’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I enjoyed Clare Wille's narration of this book, her voice is clear and pleasant, she switched smoothly between characters.
Any additional comments?
The story was a good one, however, I think I would have enjoyed reading each woman's story separately as (ie Book 1 and Book 2 of a series) There was a lot of information to cover in such a short amount of time. I was totally fascinated by Caroline and Corrin's (sp) story and would have liked to hear more detail about them.

Tedious
I am battling every second of this book. Have progressed to part 2 where an inkling of what may have transpired is just coming to light. The narrator occasionally confuses which character she is relating but overall gives a good narration. The author's time changes are a bit difficult to follow. This is not a "casual" listening book. Hoping the ending is more satisfying than part 1.
