Publisher's summary

Not every danger comes in the form of a mega-threat like a Titan. Some predators are a lot cozier...more personal.

When one such creature threatens an independent tutor, Harry Dresden must shake off the blood and dirt of his most recent battles and rise to the occasion, even when it turns out that the new predator is far more dangerous and connected than first appearances would suggest.

Best of old and new!

This story reads like one of the stories in the earlier parts of the series, but with the impact of the later one clearly visible. It is an excellent little story!
Jim is also an absolutely fantastic narrator, and if Marsters wasn't as good as he is, I'd call for Jim to take over narrating the series!

Jim Butcher does it again.

Awesome story. Really my ONLY complaint is he can't do Bob's voice well, but the rest of it was great.

I think there needs to be a Marsters cut.

Jim did a good job

I was expecting a novice narration and was pleasantly surprised. He did well for himself.

Story awesomely done. Heavy callbacks to the events of Battlefront. So spoilers for the unwary.

The outtakes were hilarious and showed just how much effort he put into it. I'll bet he has an added appreciation for his regular narrators.

Enjoyable Short Story

This new novella takes place after the last novel, Battle Ground. As short stories go, this is just Harry's next case. Not a lot happens in the universe but you get to see how Harry is moving forward after the destruction, heartbreak and battle from the last book. A great quick read to get a Dresden fix.

What a pleasant surprise!

If you would have told me that was going to wake up to a short by Jim Butcher, I would have believed you but here we are and it was a delight to listen to. Hearing Jim narrate these beloved characters was a change of pace and a welcomed one. I absolutely love his Mab voice. it was so awesome!

It’s Jim Butcher

This is a solid Dresden Files novella.

It was well written (do we expect anything else from Jim Butcher?) and well paced. The story kept me engaged every second.

Jim did a great job reading the story and the production quality was outstanding.

I hope this is another step toward Mr. Butcher building out a Sanderson style franchise for his properties.

Jim rocked it!

You can tell he had a blast recording this, and he did excellent! I can never have too much of Harry Dresden and that world. I also gotta say I love the unique mythical beings as of late.

Butcher NAILED IT. Absolutely loved it

Mr. Butcher did a great job on the narrative, gave it a sort of "John Wayne" feeling to the story. It was absolutely phenomenal, and makes you think Dresden is sort of a "cowboy, outlaw, doesn't take sh*t" from anyone sort guy". Also, makes you consider that this is how Mr. Butcher portrays Harry Dresden in his mind and it just clicks. I am not try belittle Mr. Masters because he will forever and always be Harry Dresden's voice to me, but HOTDOGGY, and you better "listen up, pilgrim" Jim Butcher knocked this sucker out of the ballpark.
