Publisher's summary

Four ridiculously silly stories with Henry, Lassie, Murdock, and some surprise guests!

“Fun at the Vet”

For his dad’s sixty-fifth birthday, Henry sends his dad to Las Vegas, leaving Henry to take care of his 160-pound dog Murdock. When Lassie and Murdock’s game of “What Won’t Murdock eat?” goes horribly wrong, a trip to the emergency vet is in order. And when a crazed snake owner takes the vet hostage, it’s up to Henry, Lassie, and Murdock to save the day. But they only have one hour. And the clock is ticking …

“The Break-In”

One of the gangs’ new friends has gone missing, and it’s up to Henry, Lassie, Murdock, and Henry’s father to rescue him. Before it’s too late …

“A Very Lassie Christmas”

After pulling some strings, Henry’s fiancée is able to surprise him with an early Christmas present: a 3:00 a.m. trip to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. But when Lassie and Murdock tag along, everything goes haywire …

The Bachelor Party”

Just a few weeks before his wedding, Henry is shocked when he wakes up at the MGM National Harbor for a surprise bachelor party. And if Henry’s father, Lassie, and Murdock have anything to say about it, it will be an “hour” that Henry will never forget … even if he wants to …

great fun, I couldn't stop listening

This was a fun follow up to the 3 am series. I hope there will be more. The adventures of a mischievous cat and loyal dog as told by a guy that is only awake an hour a day ( he only know a small fraction of what is happening in his own life much less theirs).

I kept thinking, "he only has an hour, how much more stuff can they all get into?"

Read 3AM First

To really understand the bond between Henry & Lassie read 3AM first. The narrator for this novella is the same as for the 3AM series (thank goodness). I’m not certain if anybody else could read these characters as well as Jamie Renell. This short novella makes a great addition to the 3AM series.

What fun!

Thanks to Nick Pirog for stories just about Lassie & Murdock. If you haven’t read the 3AM Series you might not get the “full” understanding but even if not these romps are a fun, crazy way to spend a few hours. Jamie Renell reads them both, these characters and he are one of the same,he does a great job. Chin Chin the baby panda is just one big “Aaawww”! I must also recommend “The Speed of Souls”. It’s offered in the Plus Catalog but it is so good, I purchased it, well worth a credit. A hilarious tale of Hugo the dog that dies(no not too sad) and comes back as a kitten! Talk about confused! How Nick’s imagine works is a gift to readers. Of course as a Vet Tech I’m probably a little biased when it comes to animal stories. With these and the Thomas Prescott series Nick has become one of my favorite authors for a light hearted boost when needed.

Fun!

"The Lassie Files" by Nick Pirog is a delightful read that weaves together multiple captivating characters and stories. What truly shines in this book is the rich tapestry of relationships, particularly the one between Henry and all the characters. Pirog's skill in crafting these connections makes the narrative feel alive and engaging.

One wish I have is for Nick's books to be longer, as I found myself thoroughly enjoying the adventures and wanting more. Overall, it's a charming book that offers a wonderful escape into its intricate web of tales and relationships.

I have read nearly all of Nick's books and this one, like all the others, is a must read.
